Another UFC on tonight. Starts in about 15 minutes.

My picks are in red.
Dustin Hazelett Vs. Tamdan McCrory
Nate Quarry Vs. Demian Maia
Gabriel Gonzaga Vs. Josh Hendricks
Kenny Florian Vs. Joe Stevenson
Randy Couture Vs. Brock Lesnar

I really want couture to win. I dont think lesnar deserves a shot on the title yet. Hopefully couture shows him that tonight.

I wanted Couture to win, only because I hate the UFC, and do not think Lesnar deserved the shot.

Lesnar however proved he did deserve the shot and the win. He is likely to tear up the UFC and have no real competition until he is able to face Arlovski, Barnett, or Fedor.

Decent card overall despite the lack of name power.

I didn't know enough about some of the guys on the prelims to make a judgment on their matches, but for what I did predict, I went 5/7, which for me isn't all that bad...haha.

Given that I don't care for Quarry or Maia, I didn't really care who I picked and/or won. :)

I had:

Alvin Robertson vs. Mark Bocek
Jorge Gurgel vs. Aaron Riley
Demian Maia vs. Nate Quarry
Dustin Hazelett vs. Tamdan McCrory
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Josh Hendricks
Kenny Florian vs. Joe Stevenson
Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Couture

I was actually happy with the show. I think this may be the first time they showed all nine fights on the card. Three fights stood out to me...

#3 Gonzaga VS Hendricks
You could hear Gonzaga's hits land so hard it was great! I thought it was funny that Gonzaga stopped hitting Hendricks after he was down because he knew the fight was over, but Mazagatti didn't stop the fight, so Gabriel hit him one more time. You could tell that as soon as hendricks hit the ground, he wanted nothing else to do with Gonzaga.

#2 Jeremy Stephens VS Rafael dos Anjos
I don't know if Stephens got the KO of the night bonus, but he should! That was a great comeback! After he almost had his shoulder ripped out of it's socket, he comes back and uses the same arm to land what I think is the most devestating upper cut I've ever seen. You can see Anjos' eyes roll into the back of his head the instant Jeremy connected with the shot.

#1 Aaron Riley VS Jorge Grugel
My opinion is that this was fight of the night (does it show that I love guys that stand and bang?)! These guys put on a show for a full three rounds, with Riley coming out on top with a Unanimous Decision (all judges scorring it 29-28). Grugel has great BJJ and if he took it to the ground, he probably could have finished the fight in the first or second round. Props to Jorge for not taking the easier win and fighting the tougher fight on the feet.

I knew Lesnar would beat Randy. I didn't want him to, but I knew that's how it would go down. Hopefully we'll get to see a Gonzaga/Cotoure rematch. I wanted to see Stevenson (gotta support the KOTC family!) beat Florian, but Kenny just dominated Joe Daddy. So as much as it pains me to say it, overall it was a good show.

**edit** Hazelett got submission of the night, Stephens got KO o the night, and Riley and Grugel got fight of the night bonuses of $60,000 each.
