Friday is going to be a good day. Have one class from 11-noon, then head to the theater to see Haywire (oh Gina Carano), then head home and watch some Friday Night Fights. While the card is quite shallow, save for the main event, but who can complain about free fights? The undercard is not scheduled to air on any of the Sportsnet platform; however, I'll take my four fights and be happy.

MAIN CARD (FX)

Melvin Guillard vs. Jim Miller
Duane "Bang" Ludwig vs. Josh Neer
Mike Easton vs. Jared Papazian
Pat Barry vs. Christian Morecraft

PRELIMINARY CARD (FUEL TV)

Jorge Rivera vs. Eric Schafer
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Kamal Shalorus
Charlie Brenneman vs. Daniel Roberts
Fabricio Camoes vs. Tommy Hayden
Daniel Pineda vs. Pat Schilling
Nick Denis vs. Joseph Sandoval

Kind of surprised Easton gets the nod over Brenneman on the main card...Brenneman's not that far removed from a couple fairly marquee fights in his division.

I'm Pat Barry and Duane Ludwig for life, but I don't know whether or not I'm going to be watching live yet or not. Finding out that it was on a Friday kind of buggered up all of my plans.

I agree with you about putting Easton on the main card instead of Brenneman, seems a bit odd.

Listening to the sherdog roundtable right now, and Kid Nate of Bloody Elbow just called Christian Morecraft a young Paul Varelans. Freaking hilarious.

Everybody (except for Fabricio Camoes) has made weight, bring on the fights:

Main Card:

Melvin Guillard (156) vs. Jim Miller (155)
Duane Ludwig (170.5) vs. Josh Neer (171)
Mike Easton (135) vs. Jared Papazian (135.5)
Pat Barry (242) vs. Christian Morecraft (256)

Preliminary Card:

Jorge Rivera (185.5) vs. Eric Schafer (185)
Habib Nurmagomedov (155) vs. Kamal Shalorus (155.5)
Charlie Brenneman (170.5) vs. Daniel Roberts (170.5)
Fabricio Camoes (157.5*) vs. Tom Hayden (155.5)
Daniel Pineda (145) vs. Pat Schilling (145)
Nick Denis (135.5) vs. Joseph Sandoval (135)

I guess you can consider Easton to be a fairly high profile guy in his division because of his track record...just not within the UFC. I thought maybe it was because of his previous opponent, but I think it was Kenny Stone, and I don't see how he gets the nod over Brenneman either.

Oh well...Charlie's the type of guy who doesn't lose fights he's supposed to win...though Ninja's basically out if he loses this fight, so there might be a bit of desperation on his part. Perhaps it's the fact that Easton's got a more aesthetic fight style than Brenneman, and they think a fast paced fight is going to draw more eyes than a 15 minute ground match, which I assume Charlie/Ninja will be.

Jared Papazian's last 4 fights have been for me, and he hasn't finished any of his opponents. But everyone of those fights were just stand up, bang out brawls! The kid is exiting as hell to watch!

They just announced that Jorge Rivera is expected to retire after his fight. I picked Schafer to win; but I would really like to see Rivera go out with a win just like Chris Lytle.

Brenneman's Carpe Diem Panama City License Plate is one of the more unfortunate tattoos I've seen in a while

I thought his mediocrity was quite thrilling.

Well, you have sat through numerous Canucks shootouts this year, so that statement doesn't surprise me

I'm still stuck at work, and don't know if I'm watching the event live at all tonight.

Shame because Charlie Brenneman, Jim Miller, Pat Berry and Duane Ludwig on the same card are practically a dream come true for me :p

Your name is Rufus and that was the Trufus. That's got to be fight of the night. That was a great fight.

I know it seems as though it's trivial, but when Buffer announced the decision there I thought/figured it was a unanimous decision. If you don't want to say who the judges are whatever, although I think that the judges names should be announced to be held for public scorn for off decisions, but at least say 29-28 Easton, 29-28 Papazian, and 30-27 for your winner... or whatever.
