The Hometown Throwdown is back! I know I'm not the only person hella geeked for the main event this Friday...Matt . This is actually quite a good little card in my opinion.

Main Card Bouts (on FX and Sporstnet West/East/Pacific etc.):
Ian McCall (11-2-1; #1 Flyweight) vs. Demetrious Johnson (14-2-1; #4 Flyweight)
Erick Silva (13-2) vs. Charlie Brenneman (15-3)
Mike Pyle (22-8) vs. Josh Neer (33-10)
Scott Jorgensen (13-5; #6 Bantamweight) vs. Eddie Wineland (18-8-1)

Preliminary Bouts (on Fuel TV and Sportsnet West/East/Pacific etc.):
Mike Pierce (13-5) vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha (9-1)
Seth Baczynski (15-7) vs. Lance Benoist (6-0)
Leonard Garcia (15-8-1) vs. Matt Grice (14-4)
Dustin Pague (10-5) vs. Jared Papazian (14-7)
Tim Means (17-3) vs. Justin Salas (10-3)
Buddy Roberts (11-2) vs. Caio Magalhaes (5-0)

Preliminary Bouts (on Facebook):
Henry Martinez (8-2) vs. Bernardo Magalhaes (11-2)
Jake Hecht (11-3) vs. Sean Pierson (11-6)

Main Card on FX and Sportsnet Regional stations: 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT

There's some really weird stuff going on with this card...like half the guys on the prelim card fought on the Fuel TV event in February (or were scheduled to, like in Roberts' case) and are all fighting on this one too. it's just really weird to see that.

I'm glad Caio Magalhaes' fight is being televised. He looks like a Lyoto Machida starter kit but is Vinny's little brother and I think he'll have a pretty strong showing.

The Lance Benoist thing is interesting. He just disappeared after he fought Matt Riddle last September with a 60 day medical suspension, and I think it was just pretty recent where he admitted (or someone admitted for him) that his nose had been busted up pretty bad in the Riddle fight, so he's been on the shelf since then.

Yes I'm excited for the main event. The evil ringmaster vs. Mighty Mouse 2...bring it on :D

Two words Leonard Garcia..............cannot wait for this. I know alot of you do not like the guy but I am a big fan. Looking forward to this.

I think most of the anti-Garcia people out there don't like the fact that he wins victories largely on baseless criteria. When you look like you're doing all the work while the other guy is stuck counterpunching, it's easy to assume that because you're the aggressor, you're landing all the punches. Only, for every one significant strike Garcia lands, it seems like his opponents land 3 or 4...only they don't sound like Iron Mike Sharpe doing it, yelling after every strike like it's the 5th set of the Wimbledon finals.

That's the only gripe I have against Garcia. I enjoy watching his fights because he never doesn't give it 100% ... I just don't like that it comes at the expense of other peoples' records.

I don't usually enjoy Leonard Garcia fights because they're sloppy wing fests. I much prefer a technical battle than what Garcia brings to the table. But to each his own. And if you love watching Leonard Garcia fights then more power to you.

Everybody was on point weight wise:

UFC Flyweight Tournament Semifinals
Ian McCall (126) vs. Demetrious Johnson (125)

Erick Silva (169) vs. Charlie Brenneman (171)
Mike Pyle (171) vs. Josh Neer (170.5)
Scott Jorgensen (136) vs. Eddie Wineland (135.5)
Mike Pierce (171) vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha (170.5)
Seth Baczynski (170.5) vs. Lance Benoist (171)
Leonard Garcia (146) vs. Matt Grice (146)
Dustin Pague (136) vs. Jared Papazian (133)
Tim Means (155.5) vs. Justin Salas (156)
Buddy Roberts (185) vs. Caio Magalhaes (186)
Henry Martinez (156) vs. Bernardo Magalhaes (155)
Sean Pierson (170) vs. Jake Hecht (171)

Bring on the fights!

It's his no quit attitude. The kid is ALL heart. Not the most talented dude in MMA by a long shot but he has a good chin and he will bring a battle to the mat everytime he steps into the octagon.

Really looking forward to seeing Jared Papazian and especially Tim Means fight! Jared's last 6 fights have been decisions, but I'm glad. They have been full length battles. He brings the fight for sure!

Tim is such a cool kid, but he's one of those guys that can flip the switch from nice, pleasant, quiet kid, to a monster, badass, vicious fighter when he steps into the cage.

Went 6-2 with my undercard picks. I actually pick Garcia, figuring that Grice is flawed enough to lose a bad decision or get stopped. Jeez. Guess I was wrong.

Wineland putting in the proverbial coffin nails after dropping Jorgensen with the overhand right. Great knockout.

Awesome quote from Wineland: "Keep me fighting, I'm a cornfed hillbilly from Indiana. That's how we get down."

What a fight! McCall and Johnson cannot have a boring/not razor close fight. I think it's one round apiece headed to the third. This is great stuff.

Although he lost, good on Lance Benoist for not dropping out of his fight. His twin brother was killed in a car crash in April. I can only imagine how tough it would have been to continue training, and fight.
