Busy couple of days for UFC fans. I'm looking forward to watch a lot of fights this weekend.

UFC on FX

Main Card (on FX):
Gray Maynard (10-1-1; #4 Lightweight) vs. Clay Guida (29-12; #7 Lightweight)
Sam Stout (17-7) vs. Spencer Fisher (24-8)
Brian Ebersole (49-14-1) vs. T.J. Waldburger (15-6)
Ross Pearson (13-5) vs. Cub Swanson (16-5)

Preliminary Card (on Fuel TV):
Hatsu Hioki (26-4-2; #2 Featherweight) vs. Ricardo Lamas (11-2)
Rick Story (13-5) vs. Brock Jardine (9-1)
Ramsey Nijem (5-2) vs. C.J. Keith (8-0)
Steven Siler (20-9) vs. Joey Gambino (9-0)
Nick Catone (9-2) vs. Chris Camozzi (16-5)
Matt Brown (14-11) vs. Luis Ramos (19-7)

Preliminary Card (on Facebook):
Dan Miller (13-6) vs. Ricardo Funch (8-3)
Ken Stone (10-3) vs. Dustin Pague (8-2)

Kudos to Dustin Pague for pulling a Leben (not actually a bad thing here) and step up after fighting two weeks ago to take on Ken Stone.

Why on earth is the UFC putting Hikoi on the Fuel TV prelims? Either he wins or Lamas; who is one heck of an exciting fighter, puts on a great performance. Regardless you can't give a guy a title fight after he's been on a Fuel TV undercard that will be watched by around 100,000 people.

UFC 147 - Silva/Franklin II

Main Card (on Pay-Per-View):
Wanderlei Silva (34-11) vs. Rich Franklin (28-6)
Cezar Ferreira vs. Sergio Moraes
Godofredo Pepey vs. Rony Mariano Bezerra
Fabricio Werdum (15-5; #6 Heavyweight) vs. Mike Russow (15-1)
Yuri Alcantara (28-3) vs. Hacran Dias (20-1-1)

Preliminary Card (on FX):
Anistavio Medeiros vs. Rodrigo Damm
Delson Heleno vs. Francisco Denaldo
John Teixeira vs. Hugo Viana
Thiago Perpétuo vs. Leonardo Mafra

Preliminary Card (on Facebook):
Marcos Vanicius Borges Pancini vs. Wagner Campos
Felipe Arantes (14-4) vs. Milton Viera (13-7-1)

I am really looking forward to seeing the Alcantara/Dias fight. I am also intrigued to see if Russow can pull off a shocker; not banking on it though. This PPV will also crown the first winners of the TUF Brazil show.

Rodrigo Damm is in the UFC? Was he on Ultimate Fighter Brazil?

Dave...the Hioki situation's unfortunate and I really feel for him, but there's just too much going against him right now to have him on the main. You can't finish a crazy trilogy (Stout/Fisher) on Facebook or a prelim card because it's one of the best known series of 2 tilts in UFC history.

They're trying to build Ebersole as a legitimate contender at welterweight, and his antics are well known amongst UFC fans. Of course, this is sort of unfortunate for the UFC now since I BELIEVE he announced yesterday he's dropping to Lightweight after the Waldburger fight (I don't know if he was joking or not...I wasn't listening in to the MMA hour.)

Then...well...Ross Pearson is Ross Pearson. He just gets a main card spot because of the TUF effect and I'm guessing the UFC thinks fans know him better than they would Hioki.

The UFC really should've considered making this a 5 card main instead of sending Hioki to be watched by 75,000 fans...you're right.

The fighters on that I follow on Twitter re: This card have been QUIIIIIET about this event and since I've paid little attention to anything outside of injury replacements, I didn't even know some of these guys were on the card to begin with. Ebersole just started tweeting again, but it's mostly been with regard to trying to sell his UFC 148 tickets. Cub Swanson's barely said anything, and I haven't heard a peep from Sam Stout, Rick Story and Matt Brown. There's almost no fighter-built buzz around this event outside of the main...it's unfortunately been overshadowed by:

a) Whether or not UFC 147 is a ripoff
b) Injuries to UFC 148
c) Injuries to UFC 149

Why can't you put the Stout/Fisher fight on Fuel? I don't know of anyone that was calling for a third fight between these two. They're both coming off of losses to boot. It is booking like this that will hurt the UFC in the long run if they keep booking the lighter weight classes like this.

I hear fairly regularly that the lighter weight guys can't draw. I think that's a bunch of non-sense. They haven't been given a chance to draw. It will come in time so long as the UFC doesn't do stupid stuff like they're doing with this card on Friday. Look at boxing; who are the two biggest draws in the sport? Certainly not anyone over 160lbs.

The weigh-in results for the FX card tomorrow:

Gray Maynard (155) vs. Clay Guida (155)
Sam Stout (155.5) vs. Spencer Fisher (156)
Brian Ebersole (170) vs. T.J. Waldburger (170.5)
Ross Pearson (146) vs. Cub Swanson (145.5)
Hatsu Hioki (145.5) vs. Ricardo Lamas (145)
Ramsey Nijem (156) vs. C.J. Keith (*157)
Rick Story (169.5) vs. Brock Jardine (170.5)
Steven Siler (145.5) vs. Joey Gambino (145)
Nick Catone (185.5) vs. Chris Camozzi (185.5)
Matt Brown (170.5) vs. Luis Ramos (170)
Dan Miller (170.5) vs. Ricardo Funch (170.5)
Dustin Pague (135) vs. Ken Stone (135.5)

Keith was fined 20% of his purse for missing weight.

Guida is making this an ugly, ugly fight. But in my opinion he's winning this fight right now. So while not necessarily an entertaining fight it's been very effective for Clay.

Would like to see Gray get the victory, but if Clay wins I wouldnt put him any closer to a title shot.

FOTN Bonuses for $50,000 each

Cub Swanson KO of the Night
Dan Miller Submission of the Night
Sam Stout / Spencer Fisher Fight of the Night

You can argue other fights for FOTN...but I think Stout/Fisher gets the emotional nod, even as perhaps a "thank you" of sorts. This is the first event where they had FOTN eligibility of the three. The bonus didn't exist the first time they fought, and they weren't handing out post-fight bonuses on the Spike TV events when the fought the second time.

You're probably right about FOTN Matt. The best fight of the night was the Ebersole/Waldburger bout. I am becoming a big fan of T.J., and will gladly watch any fight he has. Gotta love a guy that is as aggressive as he is off of his back.
