Ultimate debut patch fakes.....I'm saddened as I needed 2 of them

well I have found what I believe to be a fake for this years debut patch set. As many of you know I do this set every year and every os often I check out.....checkoutmycards.com to see if there are any on there. Well I spot this card and crap my pants as all of the patches for Lindback have been terrible for this set. Lo and behold I check the library that Ryan started and here we are...........

another one from the same guy...........at least I think it is. This Clifford looks to be numbered 2/35. the worst part is I only need 4 cards to finish the set and these are 2 of them. I was going to jump all over them as the prices were cheap

The name of the seller is gethighonhockey and I was going to send him a message but I have no idea how you do it on that site
 
I wouldn't bother contacting the seller. Contact checkoutmycards.com instead. If I am not mistaken, sellers themselves ship their cards to COMC and they are in possession of them, not the particular seller.
 
I didn't know about this site. Thanks for the heads up I bought a card I've been looking for for over 3 years for half the price I wanted to pay. ;)
 
Oh man. This is disappointing. That's all I've really gotta say about it. Can't say I'm surprised though...

At least my work saving scans is helping to weed out some fakes.
 
I've found another. I have been saving all scans of the auto versions too. Here is the original and then the fake. From the same seller on checkoutmycards...

IMO Upper Deck should release a picture of every numbered patch or auto patch, that way people could keep an eye out for cards that have been "enhanced" by fakers
 
Sickening that people do this. This is the main reason why I try stay away from patch cards.
 
On a bit of a side note, what is this site like to buy/sell off. Until this thread I had never even heard of this site. Anyone with experience? I don't want to hijack the thread, so a PM would be courteous to the Member that started the thread.

I have used it a few times and never had a problem

And Ryan I knew that Johnson was fake also just didn't know you were keeping scans of those also
 
So just a follow up to this story. I contacted checkoutmycards.com and someone got back to right away. Here is the response I received

Hello, John.
We appreciate your email very much. Site integrity is the core of our business. I would like to first let you know that these cards were not consigned to us by gethighonhockey. As far as we can tell, gethighonhockey has not consigned us any suspect items. These cards were actually originally sent in by a different user. We are currently in the process of reviewing this user's entire inventory of patch cards, and will be reversing transactions where applicable and returning the bulk of their inventory shortly.
I'm glad that we can rely on the assistance of sharp-eyed folks like you to help us keep the site as good as we all want it to be.
