Never really got into Hockey until this year. Well alittle into it. I think I may put a hand into it and start collecting. Remind you guys and gals that I am clueless when it comes to Hockey. Question is what would be a good product to buy. Not to sure yet who I will collect but I would like to buy a box in the near future and go from there. Thanks
 
The new stuff that is out right now is UD Powerplay, for a first buy into hockey, not bad at around $45 a box. Should get a couple jerseys in a box.

At the end of the month sometime, or beginning of November is UD Artifacts, looks to be a decent product as well.

I'd say go with some Power Play for your first buy though, and if you pull an Auto, it is mine :p :D

In about a month Upper Deck series 1 will be out as well. Personally I think its a good starter. On average you get 4 Young Guns per box, the usual assortment of inserts and this year 3 GU'd.
 
Young Guns are Upper Decks Rookie Cards.

Upper Deck is DEFINITELY the way to go. I think the rookies are 1:4 or 1:6 and their are 3 memorabilia per box.

And its only around $85 CDN when it first comes out. The prices always rises so get it early.
 
Yep, the Young Guns are RC's. Upper Deck Series 1 is solid too and you should definitely grab some of that when it comes out as well, first or second week of November I believe.

Can't wait for the break, cool to see you on the hockey side of life. Do you have a favorite team?

Always enjoyed the Penquins. Born in PA. and just liked them, may have to go with the hometown boys this year, Bluejackets.

If you want to go broke, collect Sydney Crosby :D
 
Just a tad. His pre-rookie stuff is going nuts, so I can about imagine what his true rookies and patch/autos will go for. Most think his Young Gun RC will go for over $250 + maybe a lot more, just depends.
 
Hopefully I can pull it. I am going to start watching the games and learning more about the game and the players and then hopefully I can find someone to collect. I don't want to go broke. lol

Hate the apartment but hate the cardboard box even more.

Powerplay is lowerend...if I were you I would save up my cash and stick with these products:

UD SPA
UD Premier(will probably be amazing this year)
UD Trilogy

Just my two cents. You'll pay a bit, but itll be worth it.
