So, I decided to break 10 more boxes today. As I'm tearing away at the packs, I notice a base card that is a tad different from the rest. The stock seems to be a bit thicker and the white border seems just a bit more dull than the others. I decide to set it aside for now. I break the rest of the boxes and don't find another one like it.

I then sort through my base to match #s and see if I can find the exact differences between each card. The card backs are identical so it's not a french back. However, the pictures are completely different. Here are the pics

Regular card #455

If someone from Panini could confirm whether or not the whole set has this parallel and how tough they are, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would appreciate it

Do you remember where the card come from in the pack bud? In the 'insert' slot? Or just mixed in with the base?

Hmmm... if it was a full horizontal set, that wouldn't be so bad, but I suppose there are horizontal and verticals in the regular set, so that makes it tougher. They did say no french backs though this year...

As posted
In the rookie thread I pulled a no number rc. Another possible parallel. Sent a tweet to tracy hopefully he will reply

It would be fun to chase but I wonder if it is for all the base, or just some of them? =S

Frankie, got the same feeling comparing a mark streit to others for
My box

Can you post a pic and tell me the card number? I'll check my base and see if the pic is different

Pretty sure it was in the slot where the rookie or insert normally is

I agree with Cory here. The french back was near impossible to catch with the naked eye. The horizontal base would not be that bad if the whole set was like this.

I am all for adding value to the product. Hopefully I pull the Colton Orr out of my case so I can pay for the case
