I got fed up of waiting so I spoke to Upper Deck about replacing 2 redemptions, both old (1 was extremely old).
These are the 2 cards I had replaced:
I submited this one on March 15, 2009!
MICHAEL BEASLEY
2008-09 SP AUTHENTIC BASKETBALL ROOKIE LEVEL 2-AUTO/PATCH #ED TO 299 CD # 107

I submited this one on June 26 2008!!!!
HENRIK ZETTERBERG
2007/08 OPC PREMIER HOCKEY OPC PREMIER REMNANTS AUTOGRAPHED QUADS PARALLEL # ED TO 10 CD# PR-HZ

Here are the 2 cards I got as replacments via Fedex today:

Needless to say that I am VERY happy with my replacements! Both are available, but only for sale.

Comments are appreciated!

Thanks for looking,
Sean

WTF..... I mean Really?????? I was happy with my most recent replacements, but man. Super Congrats on that Winfall.

Great triple! It still drives me crazy that a card like that wasn't packed out.

Why does everyone assume it wasn't packed out? I have noticed that neither of these 2 cards are in the Beckett checklist, so isn't it possible that it packed out as a redemption and that someone replaced it after 16 weeks. I am 95% sure that this Ovechkin was a redemption, most of his autos were last year since it took Upper Deck so long to straighten out his contract.
Trust me I am no fan of Upper Deck's business practices, and you may be right. I am just saying that it may not be as simple as "the card was never packed out".

I hope I get as lucky s you did. I ordered replacements 4 days after you...but the site does not show that they have been shipped yet. Hopefully soon I will get mine. Congrats

OK, that's it. I'm scooping every redemption in sight so that when UD doesn't pony up (and we all know they won't) I can get something like those. ;)

Congrats on those beasts!

I just want to be clear so no one is mislead into unrealistic expectations of their own redemption fate. I worked with my Upper Deck redemption rep for weeks on this. I was firm and I refused to take "no" for an answer. At first he tried to buy me off with just the Ovechkin, to which I refused. I had to produce the Ebay receipt from when I bought the Beasley like a year ago because UD was offering $300 BV for the pair and I was demanding $300 cash value. To get them to agree I had to prove what I paid for the Beasley at the time of release since it's worth and selling for a fraction of that price now. I made the argument that UD's redemptions only drop in value as time passes since people become less optimistic that the card will ever be produced, and thus become far more conservative in the amount they are willing to spend/risk on that redemption. I also made the argument that fear of being stuck in a replacement situation with UD will keep collectors away from spending on a card since replacements have historically gone against the collector.
In the end I thanked my rep and said point blank "the deal is a little in my favor, but I have no problem saying that I deserve it", as all UD customers do. His reply was "I would rather overcompensate then undercompensate, especially where the customer is concerned". After I vomited I didn't know whether to call him out on the garbage or just let it go...I let it go.

Amazing cards! Seeing your luck keeps me optimistic about my outstanding redemptions. Thanks for sharing your story.

wow you gotta be kidding me! Nice!

Maybe I should call them and have my Sundin/Steen Rookie Inspiration duo auto replaced!

OK so now I'll get in line to ask that you be my official spokesperson for all of the cards that UD still owes me...with your negotiating talent perhaps you'll be able to wrangle a Crosby 05/06 Cup three color RC #/99...

Nice work!
