So a while back I grabbed 3 boxes of UD retail series 1 (Factory sealed) with the intent of sitting on them and flipping down the road....it looks like I’ve already nearly doubled the value of them (crazy EBay) my plan was to sell on eBay at the market rate....I spoke with a local HI member and he gave me pause stating that there is concern (regardless of factory sealed) that if the buyer doesn’t pull something good of asking for a refund claiming already opened. I then thought of maybe selling per pack..

Should I sit on these for a while? Sell as boxes or sell as packs? Anyone have any insight on what to do? Any horror stories or ways to avoid being scammed?

Thanks!

I wouldn’t break them open and sell them by the pack. As someone who buys older product I would rarely if ever purchase loose packs. List them BIN best offer at 25-50% higher than market rate and do a little homework on the buyers that make you offers. I’ve sold many sealed boxes over the years and never had anyone ask for a refund. I would be interested in buying one if you do move them.

What cause would they have to claim "already opened"? That seems like a stretch for me. I'd just make your listing VERY clear that they were purchases as factory sealed BY you and NEVER opened, NEVER messed with, NEVER anything, and that all sales are final. Don't see how someone could come back to you and cry about not getting a McDavid.

Awesome will do. I’d be happy to Simply sell them on HI and save headache. Shoot me a PM and hopefully we can work something out! I also want to see if a McDavid gets pulled!

Another option might be to sell them to a large online card dealer like Dave Adams card world etc.. and let them deal with any hassle like that but your return would likely be a lower then expected.

This is what I did last week. I had about 100 boxes of unopened wax. Sold it all to one person and I will let him deal with any back lash from the eBay crowd if there is any.

You should try Kijiji or Facebook marketplace. There are tons of deals waiting to me done out there with zero fees to you. I've used Kijiji to sell some unopened wax with no issues whatsoever & I've also done deals in person & to people across Canada. I was going to use ebay as a last resort but so far I haven't had to use them at all. With all that said, if I were you, I would continue to hold your 15/16 series 1 especially if you aren't in dire need of the cash. Just by 2 cents.

Thank you. I’m going to keep sitting on them...I’ve double my money already based on Recent eBay sales. This may the best route to go.

The real money was in buying older boxes to sit on. 3 years ago 2005/6 S2 retail boxes were going for $60 CAD. 2007/08 S1/S2 blasters were going for $10 CAD. It's nuts how things have changed. I had a lot of fun opening all that wax, but would have made a lot more money with the unopened product.
