Here's the update...

People are insane or foolish or just trying to cause trouble. It's a $0.25 card. I bring it to light, maybe it goes for $20. Maybe....

Fast forward the auction a few hours after I bring it to light, and its already jumped to $335 cdn with very suspicious bidding activity.

If this is something that ends up on COMC by a certain someone, well, it just may mark the end of the hobby for me. A chronology mini /3 I bid on sold for $300 a while back. I have been followed by the dummy from COMC we all know about. I'll never buy a card from him so he must honestly just get off on being a knob.

Anyway, I emailed the seller and lets see what happens

LOLOLOLOL

That. Is. BANANAPANTS. At this point, amigo, just sit back and enjoy the show knowing that someone is going to be eating a very expensive excrement sandwich.

People can be jerks. I've had people do that to me with Irbe cards back when I collected those and it was always irritating and was one of many reasons I stopped. I've generally made it my policy since moving onto game worn items to keep the pieces I most covet a secret (for the most part, sometimes I have to in order to get offers from peoples' collections) since some people will either try to bid you up, or try to ask too much when offering.

Just go to COMC search for Patrick Roy or most players then sort price highest first. They will have most of them.

He followed me on Twitter and started buying high end cards and holding them hostage on comc. Luckily I had most of them. But no way that base card actually gets paid for

Update:

I emailed the seller and he was saying it seems very odd too and removed the bids from the private bidder and the other guy with zero feedback.

Card dropped to 45 bucks again, and now there is a new private bidder and 2 more accounts that have it back to $400.

I could care less about it in my collection, but I'm dying to know if this is going to get paid for

It's just sad.

I don't know what that card is worth. I'm betting if you told the seller a week ago that he'd get $40+ for it, he would have been thrilled. What exactly it is... who knows.

That someone would troll posts like these, simply so they can bid it up - pay way too much money for it ($400? Really?) to only then relist it for 2 or 3 times what they paid.... I don't get it.

I could totally see someone (after reading this) trying to win it for $20 - think "I'll have a rare care, a Luongo collector will want this" and then relist it for $50. Can haggle a little bit, and still double your money. Easy cash.

On what planet does anyone thing they can buy it for $400, and then flip it for a profit? I just don't understand that dudes practices. Never did.

As a side note, is it time for everyone to dig through their fleer singles or do you think this is a one off?

Hey, why not?

Maybe only a few sheets of cards were like this, I'd assume. I don't think it was too many. But hey, not a bad card if you can find a silver version for the player collector in your life.

That thing went for $660, with 2 different zero feedback bidders and 2 private feedback bidders. Seems extra fishy. It'll be relisted soon I am willing to bet.
