OK, here's the scoop... Just after fathers' day, I bought and broke a box of SP Authentic, and my hits were an Anders Lindback Future Watch Auto'd RC and a Barry Melrose Sign of the Times. No third autograph, but adding insult to injury, there were SIX decoy packs in the box. It was definitely a harsh one, haha. To make it worse, I got an Artifacts bronze base parallel dual jersey of Sidney Crosby that would have been awesome if not for the huge crease across the middle of it, so I decided to get in touch with Upper Deck to see if they could help me out. They offered to replace the Sid completely, card for card, and then send me something for my troubles with that and the SPA box. Fast forward a couple months, and here's what I ended up with.
My replaced Sid dual jersey...
...and Upper Deck threw this one in with it for my troubles...
10-11 Artifacts Tundra Tandems Silver - Briere (nice three-color piece, very cool!) and Van Riemsdyk
And for the box of SP Authentic, they sent me an additional autograph for the one that was missing...
Cool, Hamill's a Bruin, so I can add that to my PC.
And to help fill out all those decoys, they threw this in too...
Eric Tangradi Limited Auto Patch, with a sweet patch piece!
I would definitely say that this was an acceptable, and even stellar replacement, so my hat is off to Upper Deck, as I would consider this above and beyond. Thanks UD!
On the other side of the hobby fence, on my way home, I let my son open a pack of Certified, and he pulled a nice Martin St. Louis Fabric of the Game jersey, and although I'm not a fan of white swatches, they're certainly cool when they've got some puck marks!
Doesn't hurt that I saw this when I flipped it over...
