Maybe I missed this thread already, but with artifacts supposedly being released before UD S1...would that now make the artifacts rc more wanted, or the first true rc?

If I'm not mistaken, Artifacts has been released first the last several years. Victory is even earlier and we all know how that works...
I think the Young Guns become 'the' RC because of (a) history and (b) no redemptions. It's late enough to get the guys who are playing their first full season and not just the late call-ups from the previous year.

Panini Certified will be out before either of them.
Also, many of the big RCs will be the redemptions and won't be seen until March. Sure, they'll have Subban & Kadri live in Artifacts at packout (probably, anyways) but the Oilers rookies won't be there and neither will be a lot of other big names.
That said, the YG is still the YG and it's one of the big staple RCs alongside the SP Authentic and Cup rookies.

Now that Panini is in the mix, I don't think UD will be holding back rookies for series 2 (although I could be wrong). That could make for a pretty good crop in series 1.

Artifacts usually feature last season's late starters. Young Guns feature RC's that actually appear in their first games of the new 10-11 season. So a Taylor Hall Artifacts RC will appear as an Edmonton redemption RC that you probably won't receive til the following year.

The good RCs in Artifacts are redemptions... people want to pull the first true card direct from the pack... good ol UD1! This year's rookie class is amazing!

Not anymore! Certified releases next week and will have auto/jersey rookies of Hall, Eberle, etc LIVE! Great marketing strategy to beat out UD1 as the first to have them live in packs (not to mention autos!)

Perhaps, but I believe the certified rookies will be photoshoot pics, not live action like UD1 will have.

Not necessarily for ud1. Last year they used a bunch of photoshoot pics for the young guns. Just were fake action shots.

Yeah thinking of all the drafts Edmonton has picked up who will the Edmonton Artifacts card be for, Eberle or Hall ??? Or do you think they will nail us with both being redemptions
