Upshall Suspended 2 Games

This is utter nonsense. 2 games for the Bartulis hit. Yeah, the hit was a tad bit late, but I had no problem with it. Is it just that every time a player gets injured, regardless of the event, the "offending" player will be suspended? IT'S A ROUGH GAME; YOU CAN GTE INJURED. And this is a Flyer I'm talking about. Total crap.

Strange how the NHL perceives things. Seems they are too light on punishment on some things and go overboard on others. I just watched the hit on youtube and didn't really see what he did wrong. Didn't seem like Bartulis had his head turned and it looked like a clean straight up hit. Is it because the whistle blew? I don't know, unless Upshall has prior suspensions.

I watched it, too.......and man, pretty lame to get suspended when you have a loose puck, no whistle, and you hit the guy in front of the goal line...not even an attempted boarding from behind. WOW!!! Brutal call. Just another hit in front of the net with a loose puck. Whistle was well after the hit.

Clean check with shoulder, too...didn't go for his head.

You can punch guys, face wash'em, choke hold them...in front of the net AFTER a whistle....But don't lay a solid check on someone before the whistle.

It's too bad he fell weird and got hurt, but come on.

I dont have a problem with Upshall and I don't think he is a dirty player, but he should have gotten more than 2 games as far as I'm concerned.
Bob had the puck covered and Bartulis was standing still looking down at his goalie. He didn't have the puck and even though the whistle hadn't been blown yet, Bartulis wasn't the one with the puck anyway so why was Upshall hitting him? He can take a swat at Bob's glove if he's trying to poke the puck loose and score a goal but not hit the defenseless player standing still at the goal line. These are the exact type of pointless plays that need to be taken out of the game in my opinion.
