just did an ebay search for "victory black", simply out of curiosity. find it sooooo funny that some (actually, quite a few) still assume that the Blacks are /5, since they were in 05/06. they actually advertise them as being /5, not "possibly /5, but no stated print run" or something of that nature.

the funniest thing... there are currently 3 Tyler Seguin cards available.

guess that all of you Seguin collectors out there had better jump on one, since there are only 2 others floating around

This is one of my biggest hobby pet peeves. The Victory Blacks were /5 once! That's all. And it seems like every few months, someone posts a thread here asking the print run on this year's Victory Blacks and there's always at least one person who replies, "I think they're always /5". I hate it!

Sorry for the rant.

I agree, It's just like when people put SP? when there's 5 other example of the same card at aution at the same time and it's so obviously not a short print.

My best,

ken

it's always the people who pulled one that suddenly ask about the /5. i also can't stand when people reply 20, 50, 100 copies this year. there's no stated print run so don't state one.

I'd say most of these sellers know that it's not /5, they just advertise that to take advantage and hope to drive up the price.

Almost a guarantee. In fact, we had a thread here one week discussing print runs of Victory Blacks, and that same week, I saw an HI member list a Victory Black as "/5???" in the title.** I was a bit surprised, but I guess as sure as more people will come when there's punch and pie (tm South Park,) more people will frenzy over a card with a questionable print run when it actually comes into question.

**Not naming names so please don't PM or whatever, even if it matters that much to you. I assume this isn't the way this person normally sells things, so I don't want to drag his/her name through the mud unnecessarily.

I have 7 Victory Black RCs of Oliver Ekman-Larsson in my collection, and I just missed out on 2 recent auctions to make the total 9!

yes just as sickening as 1 of 1 cards that are actually 1/25 or 1/50 or 1/100 just to try and get more money what a joke lol

I almost don't have a problem with it if it's say a Kovalchuk 17/100 is a 1/1, but when people proclaim that 1/100 is a 1/1 I just shake my head.
