UV resistant glass

Hi all,

So I am building two display cases for my cards. I'm planning to put them on an east facing wall. In regards to sun damage, I'm wondering is UV resistant glass really neccesary to prevent card and autograph fading? And how much more expensive would it be compared to a regular pane of glass?

Absolutely necessary for anything that may see even indirect light. As for cost contact your nearest shop that does framing and matting or even a Michaels craft store.

P.S. Fluorescent lights are the next worst thing after sunlight. They'll make autos almost entirely disappear.

I agree with Darren. I've got a signed regular glass framed picture in my office exposed to fluorescent lights (only) and any writing on it disappeared years ago. It's well worth the investment to obtain the proper glass but even with it, be careful what you expose to direct sunlight since the glass will filter out most but not all of the harmful rays.
