Well picked this card up the other day hoping that I could add it to my collection and the possible Patch of Champions set I was thinking of doing. When I saw the scan on ebay I though the white marks were remenants of a sticker, and nothing was mentioned of damage in the description. Card comes today and has a huge gouge out of it and the card is peeling below the swatch. What should I do? Is it wrong for me to complain the the seller? Should I ask for a refund? Please help me out. Thanks

Depends on if you want to keep it or not. If so, then ask for a partial refund. If not, ask for a full refund then send it back.

That is a toughie. It is hard when you get a Topps multi colored patch. I would email the seller and see if he will either take it back or at least give you a big discount.

Thanks
Ken

Jim, the seller is a fantastic, stand up guy. I am kinda suprised he didnt mention it, but I would definately give him the beneift of the doubt, contact him and see. (there was a scan of it...,but I see where how you got mixed up)

I would ask for a partial refund.

I would want to keep the card.
A) At only 25 issues they are next to impossible to find.
B) From Topps - that may be one of the best Patches in that set that I have seen .
c) If it is staying in your PC - you may be able to put up with the damage - or partially cover it up.

Those patches are notorious for that kind of damage. The Tanguay that I have is peeling on the edge as well....good luck with it tho!...It's a sweet patch

Very tough call. I'd ask for a partial refund as well however in the sellers discription nowhere does it state that the card is in nrmt/mt condition or any condition for that matter just check the scan. Hopefully he'll give you a discount.

I concur. Start by talking to the seller. See if you can't work something out - probably a discount, but possibly other solutions.

He failed to mention damage?? What a rip if you ask me!! Big discount OR A full refund!! Stand-up dealer and he didn't mention damage?? No way should you accept that!! Contact seller and see what you can come up with, if nothing BAD feedback!!

I believe I can see the damage you speak of in the auction pic.I would show him the auction link and personal scan and like the majority have said present it to him...
.............Drew.

The damage is clearly visible in the scan... you made an assumption that it was just a sticker... you should have asked... there is onus on you as well. Caveat emptor.
