Weird Variant in 1997-98 Leaf Fractal Matrix

I am in the process of sorting and scanning most of my parallel cards and I ran across this:

Incase you can not see it, one is Gold and the other is Bronze. Beckett list the card as Bronze, but I have two of the Gold Versions.

Has anyone seen two different color variants from the same card number before?

the gold is supposed to be a Gold G Axis die cut.the outline on the card dictates the die cut type and the color dictates the quantity made.i have the Thornton G Axis die cut and it is numbered out of 50.so the Turgeon would be out of 50 as well,if it were diecut.you have a nice looking error on your hands that is i'm sure much less than 50 copies.

I'm almost wondering if this is from acid or sunlight or something.

I had a number of these cards in pocket pages and all were bronze, now it's 50/50.

I also had noticed a difference in the Vernon's I have and kept both cards side-by-side for over the past 10 years... can't shead any light as to why the difference exists.

I think Kevin might be on to something. I noticed the same thing with the 1997-98 Donruss Canadian Ice Stanley Cup cards. I have a gold vernon or osgood that is supposed to be bronze.

I have the same thing with those Canadian Ice have both a gold and bronze with beezer..

Thanks for the scan, Alexander -- Hard to tell which mine is; looks somewhere between those two..? Not quite orange enough to be the bottom and not quite yellow enough to be the top!

Are they both numbered to 2000?
