West Finals: Spurs/Lakers Thread!

All I gotta say is that this is going to be an awesome series, and hopefully it will be the Lakers advancing once again to the NBA Finals, this time without Shaq, however who needs Shaq when you have Pau Gasol in the lane!

I just hope your predictions keep failing :) You picked Phoenix over SA, and then New Orleans over SA. Keep picking against them.

Here's hoping for a Pistons/Spurs rematch :D

I think the Spurs have too much chemistry to lose to the Lakers..

Ill take the Spurs in 6 setting up a celtics / Spurs final which should be quite entertaining!

Who the hell wants to see a Spurs vs. Pistons rematch? Apparently you can't be that much of a overall fan of the sport, that was the most boringinest(made up word) playoff series I have EVER seen!!!

Spurs in 6!!

Spurs have the best remaining clutch playoff player in Duncan along with a ton of experience proven playoff players. Spurs are just starting to play good basketball, I still think the Spurs will be the champs again this year.

Timmy better get used to the smell of Kobe's jock since he's gonna get saddled up by the Black Mamba.:)

Lakers opened at 6.5, but now it's at 7.5. People must be bettin' the Spurs heavy in Vegas.

I'd bet on the Lakers by +10 tonight though. Spurs were supposed to fly out of New Orleans after Game 7 but had plane problems and didn't fly out till the next day.

Kobe better get use to Bowen and Horry getting physical. Kobe don't respond well to that, it will be an interesting series. So who gets to guards Parker and Ginobili? That should be interesting, lets hope its DFish he should get on the highlight reels a few times a night.

I think the Lakers will need to utilize JORDAN FARMER this series, he is young and fast and I have seen some great games he's played.

I hear Robert Horry was out in Philly getting some hip check advice. There was also some pictures floating around of him foil taping his knuckles...could get rough haha.

I think the biggest problem in this series will be trying to contain Parker and Ginobili and Kobe getting beat up. I think Kobe needs to really use Odom and Gasol in this series. He won't beat the Spurs alone and whoever Duncan don't guard out of Gasol and Odom is going to be a matchup problem for the Spurs. It all depends if Kobe decides to play as a team or a 1 man show.

Farmer looked awful against Utah. I think the Lakers key to the series will be Gasol.

Man, if Andrew Bynum weren't hurt...........bah......onward with what we have!:)

I'm hopin' for the Spurs to come outta this one. I haven't followed them much since the Admiral retired, but they're the only basketball team I've ever rooted for, so here's hopin'...

WOW did the Spurs get their asses handed to them in the last half of the game, from being up by 20, all the way to lose by about 10 more, sad! Looks like Kobe and Company won't have any problems with them, just imagine what they could do while they are actually ahead in the game or tied throughout most of it! See it doesn't matter how good Tim Duncan plays if the other 5 major factors can't contribute in the end!

Looks like its going to be a long series.

I didn't get to see the game and of course highlights are so bias. Duncan had 30points and 18 boards but wasn't shown on 1 single highlight. The only Spurs highlight they showed was a Parker layup and then Ginobili missing the shot at the end. Kobe was in everyhighlight yet he scored less then Duncan and the Lakers only won by a few points.

Wow..they lost by 10? That's news, they missed a 3 with less than 10 seconds to go to take a lead. Can't believe the Lakers scored 7 more points in the last seven seconds. I should've stayed up.

Spurs did what they did all season and against the Hornets. Shoot horribly in the 3rd and 4th. The fact that they got that big a lead against a well rested Lakers team in LA is a pretty good sign.

Hopefully they can come back with a split and not have to come back from 0-2 like they did against New Orleans.

Actually it's not. Kobe didn't even shoot the ball the first half and only took shots in the second half when the Lakers needed him to.

DFish was off all night as well. I don't think the Lakers played their best game and yet were resilient enough to come back from being down huge, THAT is a good sign.

Parker and Duncan played well as usual, and it looks like the Lakers are gonna go hard at Bowen and make him take some fouls.

Great game, look forward to the rest of the series.
