So I guess by now everyone on here knows that I collect macinnis cards and since the release of the 08-09 UD Black I have found all but five of these cards.
And I know where and who has the missing 5th one.

.

So fast forward to the stickwork release that had this macinnis1/1 in it that I now own.

.

So when I add it to my pb I get a comment on it and who should it be but the same guy who owns the 5th black macinnis card who now wants to trade it for the macinnis gold stickwork.
So do you think it's worth my while to trade it or should I ask for something else to even it out on my end? I have made contact with him before and I have offered some big cards and much to his favorite but we could never come to a deal. And it just seems odd that now he only wants a one for one card deal.

Quincy, Quincy, Quincy!

There will be other stickwork cards to be made of his, but there is only 1 black card left

Hmmm, I think you should go for the 5th. Although that Stickwork card is a beauty, really the only difference is the goldy brown Color. And the stick is a nicer as well. Not very often a chance to complete a print run comes up. I think that is now called a "Q". Good luck!

It would be sweet to own all 5 of the UD black, you have 2 other stickwork cards that are just as nice as the 1/1. I would make the trade, if your going to have 4 of the blacks, mise as well have 5. The biggest question is, is there a secure way to make the trade?

If I do make the trade this trade the problem I have is getting it to him in a secure way. He is not a member of any trade sites so all I have pretty much is good old Canada post and a tracking number and we all know how that can go in times.

Where is he from? Maybe one of us can broker the deal for you?

Not sure but I think it's somewhere in Ontario or Toronto. I will find out fore sure and like you said maybe someone on here might live close by or might be able to meet up at a card show and exchange the cards.

Get the 5th UD Black.

Far more impressive than 4 of 5 and a 1/1, especially when the 1/1 is from an unlicensed product. that may not matter to some people, but it would definitely be the clincher for me.

Make the trade! 1/1's come and go but getting an entire print run is a wicked feat.

The Black is a hard-signed auto, much more collectable IMO.

On the other hand, the 1/1 does piece together nicely with the Enshrined silver.

Conundrum.

If I'm you I make the trade all day. Completing a long desired print run is much sweeter than owning that card in my opinion.

Although I don't like the way it was held hostage on you I would still make the deal and put it behind you. That print run would be amazing displayed.

I'd make the deal... while ITG has impressed me with their recent products, I'm very underwhelmed by their 1/1 parallels - nearly every insert set has them and unless you put them side-by-side with the regular version it's almost impossible to tell which is which as it can be as subtle as a bit of silver vs gold text. So much to like about ITG, but I'd be much happier if they cut way back on the 1/1's and made them pop more visually, so trading this stick work piece for a complete print run is an easy yes for me.

I say hold out for an additional card. It may not feel like it, but you have the upper hand in this deal. Like Scott stated, I also don't like the hostage-taking aspect of his holding out on you, so he needs to make up for it by paying/trading a little more than normal.
