What ever happened to.....

Hey guys I was just thinking what ever happened to the Bonus Items that were in boxes at one point (early 2000). These were honestly some of the coolest things to look forward to when purchasing a box.

Pacific Heads Up had Bobble Heads
SP Authentic (Baseball) did framed autograph photos (own 3 of them)
UD Portraits had the Bust (different variants w/ autos as well)
Fleer Legacy (basketball) did Auto Jersey while baseball did auto Hats
Absolute (Auto Mini Jerseys)

and my personal favorite

UD Mask collection with the Goalie Mask (some with autos).

These are just a few but man I loved this. It was almost like no matter how bad your box was you knew you were at the least getting an awesome item to display somehow.

Any idea why they stopped this?

I would love to see this idea be brought back into the hobby.

I was a big fan of the UD Classic Portraits Busts......the Regular/Away/Ice and the other variants.....thought they were pretty cool and the best of the bunch.

Bobble-Heads, not my favorite and the Masks were alright (Im sure many were fans).



Im assuming these were removed to save money and increase profits......Or was a fad that died off...either way I would love to see a return in some form...........

Yah! I loved the masks, It made up for the ugly card designs. I am up for that again... heck I might even buy Panini products if they did that.
