How careless do you have to be to do this to arguably the best card in the set?

Gretzky

Look at the corners and edges, not to mention the crease that he refers to in the description.

As somebody building this set, this breaks my heart, considering how few of these I see pop up.

Could have had a rough trip through the mail (I've seen Canada Post do MUCH worse), could have been owned by someone (i'd say a child but considering its from Ultimate Collection, well...) who liked to handle it and showed it off without considering the value, maybe it got accidentally mixed in to a lot given to someone's kid, who knows. Point being, I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation. I'd have to think the current seller wasn't the original owner...
Unfortunate but we must remember that to 99% of the world's population, this is just a silly piece of cardboard...

Crazy how a card like that could become so damaged. Beautiful card too.

Would you ever consider picking it up (depending on the price) until you find one in better condition for your set?

I like how the seller says they wont flinch on the price, but offers the Make an Offer option. HAHA

I like how the seller only mentions the crease on the back and not the destroyed corners and edges. The card is literally mangled.

It seriously looks like this thing just got done spitting it out.

What a shame. That's a beautiful card.

Looks like that guy owns that card permanently if his stance is at 250. No matter his price it's more about the card condition.

Rob, I dunno if I would even add that to a set anyway, even if it was free. I wouldn't be able to look at it. Hopefully another surfaces for ya

It would be a great card to a young kids collection if the price was right. Sure it's a Gretzky certified auto but oh my lol.

Looking at his closed auctions, he has listed it three times now, no bites.
