Ok here is what i understand so far LMK if im wrong..

You have those regular Retro parallel that arent that rare.. (matte)

You also have the Rainbow /100 of that same card that is a little harder to pull (shinny)

And i think you also have the blank back parrllel which is more rare.. (matte)

Can someone send me a checklist for these set or good scan of all 3 different model so i can see them and decide which set i wanna make..

Thanks
MP

I think you mean OPC.

you could also check the bay for alot of samples, and the blank backs are very low numbered.

the regular retro is matte. the rainbow is shiny, kinda like a refractor without the holographic background. the blank back look just like the regular retro on the front, the only way to tell is that they have a yellowish blank back, no number or anything.

What's the story with the blank backs? Why did UD make those I just don't get it!

The blank backs are an homage to the old days of OPC when they would mistakenly only print the front of the cards. If you do a search for "OPC Blank Back" you will see a decent number of old 80s cards that simply do not have a backing on them. Having gone the retro route, UD did a really cool tip of the hat to the good old days.

Yes, a very nice touch.

I broke a box at the Toronto show on Monday and what a fun break! First, UD pulled off a fantastic looking base set. The design was very well thought out - it's a modern/retro OPC look. They look and feel as hockey cards were meant to be.

I thought introducing the Retro Parallels was a fantastic concept! Obviously, UD must be paying attention to the custom graphic cards many collectors have made and posted online of today's players with vintage OPC designs. These 79-80 Retro Parallels are truly fun to pull.

I was lucky to pull a Mathieu Schneider blank back and a Rainbow Johnny Bower! I was especially pleased to pull the Bower.

Add smart inserts, the Winter Classic cards, and chances to pull the odd GU and for the money I'd say UD pulled it off with OPC this year.
