What is your theory?

Does anyone have a theory on when an “eBay Bucks” promotion gets released? I called in and they said each one is completely random. I had a theory that if I had expensive auctions that were ending soon, I would “randomly” get an ebay bucks promotion notification. I tried it and I think it worked because I just got a 5% ebay bucks promotion. Did anyone else get that?

I got one today too. I think it is good for three days.

I was getting them on and off since about October. Usually 10% if using the app and 5% if using the website.

I got a 5% offer yesterday as well that is good for 3 days. My watch list is usually between 275-300, so I'm not sure if it's tied in with expensive auctions that are ending soon. My thought was that it might be tied in with your buying patterns, maybe as an incentive to increase your activity.

I received the 5% as well, but have actually been reducing my watch list value. By buying a big load of cards a couple weeks ago, lol.

My theory is any time the numbers are low in any given period (week, month, quarter), eBay will do something to boost sales. Perhaps the numbers are low for a certain period but not low enough to warrant 10% off but low enough to warrant a 5% sale. There'd be no other reason to offer a sale/reward
