What kind of effect will current health scares have on the card market?

I'm with ya Jermey.

As long as you don't call him "germy", that could be constrewn as offensive right now.

I echo the others, this hobby has been an extremely pleasant and fun distraction right now.

My boys and I have had more time then we've had in years to dedicate to it and it's been terrific for all of; my time with them, and their time to continue to find things to chase that bring them happiness.

In some ways I'm an old school guy and with this time home, I've been on this site a lot and watch a lot of you tube breaks....... I question WHY on earth I don't collect baseball as Topps got it going on.... but that's another discussion. Guess I'll have to figure out the facebook again and instagram stuff but I'll have a lot of time to do so ,lol.

Buying, yep but I'm fortunate that I'm in the position to afford some cards. Not as much as norm but overall the excitement is just like when I was a kid. It's a sunny day and I'm looking at great cardboard.......It's great time out of mind

Lool...me too, he has a great youtube channel, and i follow him and Houdini on Twitter...good stuff there.
Stay safe everyone!!

Yea it's pretty cool seeing a player (phil hughes) bust cards.

Also yes I agree I've been leaning on the hobby too, during these tough times and I'm so grateful to have the hobby. Been going through ALL my boxes lately. Sorting stuff, looking at some that bring back great memories, and sorting a lot of base into sets. So blessed for this hobby!

Just saw some of his videos. Cool stuff indeed.

Here's one where he pulls his own RC:

I found it hilarious when he pulled the "short print" version of his rookie card numbered...... /2004.

I also love Phil Hughes' channel. I started watching it a few months ago. I agree, it's great seeing a former player bust cards and love the hobby. Not just baseball, either. He busts a ton of hockey and is a huge fan of Tampa, which I think is very cool.

After 61 years of collecting the virus has taught me that I "don't have to bust wax" I have actually decided it is time to let a lot of my cards go somewhere else. Not a have to deal as I am still employed but the thrill is just not there at the moment.

We will see if and when everything opens but for right now, I just don't see me buying much of anything in any sport. I can say that because I have met all my collecting goals but one and that is not a "have to goal" like some have been in the past.

Good luck to all, it has been a wild ride for sure and packs certainly don't cost a nickel anymore like they did when I started busting packs in 1959.

Brad Ziegler is also big time into the hobby and he is a member of the facebook sports card community. Josh Donaldson also is a big time collector of cards and I think some of his collection is on his Instagram.

Yea it looks like a lot of the online stuff is really taking off, as is everything else online amidst this crisis. I haven't really gotten into much of it but may need to join the trend.

I have as much fun selling stuff than opening packs. I'm slowly downsizing the collection too. Lower-end stuff is easier to move on Facebook.

I am fortunate to be able to work through this crisis, so I've been spending more on some items than I usually would. Instead of looking for that deal, it's [shrug] [Press Buy It Now].
