what the heck to do? yet another ebay/paypal issue

Last night I paid via paypal for an expensive card which I won on ebay.
The seller has over 1000 positive feedback, has 99.7% positive, and on review of his feedback, has dealt with other individuals with whom I have also dealt, and who would be considered reputable.

This morning, I am going to put in feedback for a seperate transaction with another buyer, and I see that the seller is no longer a registered user! Less than 10 hours after having received my payment! And ebay has removed the completed auction from their records.:|

I have filed a paypal dispute, but this has me concerned that I just got scammed out of a fair amount of money. Has anyone here dealt with ebay seller lgtwest before?

Has anyone had this happen to them before? Am I buggered here?

EDIT: Link to feedback was removed to protect the seller's identity. Arrangements have been made to protect both sides. I'll update the thread once the situation has reached a conclusion, one way or another.

I had the same thing with another seller becoming unregistered after I paid. I just filed the paypal claim and got my money back. You're protected with paypal.

Dunno but paypal took the ebay fees today from my account, maybe the seller credit card expired or something.

This happened to me twice and i received the items both times,did you email the seller to see what happened ?

This has happened to me a couple of times. On both occasions, I filed and got my money back, and no item ever arrived. One had good (99%+) feedback and was a long-time member, one was a fairly new member with very little feedback that was 100% (I can't remember exactly, but around 40 transactions).

I'd file right now. If the card happens to show up, you can always send the return address a money order or something. Protect yourself. They became unregistered for one of a number of reasons, none of which are your problem or fault.

Odds are better than average that this is an instance of seller somehow unintentionally violating an eBay policy - credit card expired, wasn't taking enough PayPal sales , whatever - and got NARUd. File your claim, but be prepared to cancel it.

I've spoken to the seller, and we have made mutually agreeable arrangements that protect both sides, so I've removed his info.

It seems you are correct Q, the seller indicated he has no idea why his account has been NARU'd, and is trying to get ahold of ebay to correct the situation. Hopefully that's actually the case, and this isn't a scam, but we'll find out soon enough I suppose.
