Yesterday in the mail from ebay I recieved a steven stamkos lettermen from superlative 1/1
The only issue its not in a superlative toploader what can i do?

About the only option you have is to request a refund and send it back. ITG will not reseal the toploaders like they will replace the UM Slabs. Unfortunately, most people view the lack of the original toploader as a devaluing factor.

What if i got the cheapest superlative card i could find then take it out and put mine in

That might help some, but the seal is what is really important, not so much the toploader itself. Personally, I would rather the seller tell me that it was not sealed in original toploader.

You never know, you might find a collector that has no problem with it being out of the holder or was planning on taking it out after purchase anyway so it might not cost you at all.

depends on what you want to do with it. personally, i freed my Superlative cards from their ugly top loaders and put them into nicer magnetic one touches.

i agree with you this one. never been a fan of slabbed cards and never will be. i saw the card yesterday and if you are planning to sell it then the value would most definitely need to be decreased at least a little.

what did the auction picture show? how about the description? if the pic clearly shows the seal being missing... then you don't really have too much to stand on. last round of Superlative i bought a Ray Emery patch off ebay and didn't pay attention to the pic. when the card showed up, i was pretty hacked off, given that the card was in another toploader. i was about to ***** out the seller when i went back to the auction and looked at the pic and description. nothing in the description, but the pic surely showed the card without a Superlative seal on it. i felt like i had to leave that one alone...

I would not worry that much about it. It would be smart to put it in an unsealed S-II toploader, but most collectors understand that the seals break on their own sometimes due to the perforation. I don't think it devalues a card like this one....not like someone put a fake patch in place of your nameplate....no one is going to question if it is genuine or not. It might devalue the card slightly to some collectors, but I doubt it will be anything but a bargaining tool to attempt to get a lower price for it....dont fall for it....it is the only letter available and there is no substitute....
