Suggestion:

Buy a few boxes of stuff that he carries. Go to his shop. Bring along a card table or TV tray table. Sit outside his shop where he can see you and bust your wax. Then get back into your car and drive home. If he comes out (and he will) to ask you about it, tell him that the point is for him to SEE that you're taking your hobby dollars elsewhere.
