That stuff just for little kids to use online to type in to get stuff? If so, don't they realize that the ones that collect the most are the adults with the money? And if not what the heck do you do with those numbers?

A lot of those adult collectors have kids that can make use of their parents' collections by taking advantage of those codes. The codes give a certain amount of points per, and once you reach a certain amount, you can redeem them for random crap like player wallpaper, or better things like boxes of cards, movie tickets and PSPs.

Each card I believe is an average of 100 points (they vary from 50 to 250 each) and a PSP is 500,000 points...so yeah...them's a lot of base cards to key in :)

and the kids that get hooked on the hobby now grow into the next wave of adults that will spend their money....and so the vicious cycle goes! :D

My son typed in enough codes to get an IPod shuffle (200,000 points) and I added to the leftover total to get a Milan Lucic autograph puck (185,000) from the NHL rookies all-star game.
The prizes change on a regular basis, so there's usually something for everyone.

The codes have to be different. You can only get credit for one card. Or people would put the same card in again and again.

I keep wpndering if I should take the time to start entering all of these. Seems like it would get old very quickly.
