almost every sport and most top athletes have reprint rc on the market ,,, are they easy to tell apart from the regular cards
this hobby is turning into work and is taking the fun away
i get the fact that money attracts scammers but the hobby should be fun and not work

not my auction

I see these all the time. There is a McDavid one that's at $55 with 17 bids on it.
I would assume these would fall under some sort of copy right law.
I miss the good old days of ebay, when I searched for a hockey product and it wasn't filled with knock off cards, stupid fridge magnets, or something I didn't search for.

I mentioned this in the vintage group on Facebook this morning. We are getting to the point where buying any valuable card without grading is getting risky.

Soon enough even grading won't be enough. I think the counterfeiters will do such a good job but even the grading companies won't be able to tell whether or not a card is the original.

Honestly, I don't trust most of the grading companies at this point. There have been far too many instances in the past couple of years where they have made major mistakes.

It's a plague. And it's not just vintage anymore. I understand why it happens - the money's too good. But it could become terribly destructive.

This- I first saw these reprints with Crosby YGs a while back and now it appears to have spread to all the major players. At least they were listed as reprints, but i could already see the potential of one being flipped as a "real" YG. Difficult to tell the real from the fake with an Ebay photo. I would seriously hesitate to buy a raw YG of a star player because of the proliferation of these.

It's beyond potential that some of these will be passed off as real. It's a guarantee.
