When Can We Stop Making Excuses For Upper Deck?

Hi all,

When can we stop making excuses for Upper Deck in terms of product being released? We are in May now and still haven’t got some products from last year and Series 2 from this year. Yes covid effected a lot but you don’t see Topps not putting out great product from this years baseball in a timely manner.

COVID is still wreaking havok. In Upper Deck's specific case, I think they're being out-competed for some of the critical scarcities - foils/finishes, printing, wraps. it's grim.

So Topps and spending more to print? Again, UD should do whatever to get products out. Spend more then Topps. I know of at least 3 hardcore hockey collectors who went to other sports within the last 6 months. Not good.

I don't follow the other sports, but did Topps/Panini already get all of the releases from last year out? I know on one of the shows I watch they mentioned last years product coming out after this years draft (NFL in this case), so not really sure everyone is where they would like to be either

Right now Panini has 5 releases left for their 2021 products. Donrus Optic and Prizm are releasing June 3rd with Select still to be announced. Super Bowl was mid-February so it will be four months give or take after the last game played. SPA will release 11ish months after the last game of the 2021 Stanley Cup Finals and The Cup is still up in the air.

I just find it frustrating as a Flyers fan, all 3 products released this year have had players that were traded last summer, none of the new guys have had cards pictured in their new uni. Interest is at an all-time low.

It’s a few months wait time for windows on new home builds. Those are pretty essential so yeah not much anyone can do about some hockey cards. It is annoying but I’m sure they would be happy to release product and roll in the profits.
