Where else should I look? Help or advice needed.

I still need eight 2004-05 ITG Franchise autos and I have tapped out most of the HI regular patrons and most new collectors do not have these. I regularly check Beckett Marketplace and daily E Bay searches. Is there anywhere else that I should check?

You can do what I did a couple weekends ago in my hunt for more Gorges stuff - start calling targeted card shops in the main cities noted in the set: Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, etc.

I had some fun calling San Jose. LOL
 
Hey Ewen,

It may also help to try some image searches via the google and photobucket search engines...I have tracked down a few whales that way over the years...not many, but a few.
 
Ewen, weather permitting I'll be hitting the flea market tomorrow, I'll take your list with me. You never know what may turn up.

I second the photobucket/flickr suggestion. Try google search as well as the google image search.
 
Ewen, if you think of it, hit me up before the Fall Expo if you're not going and you still need some. At the very least, if i can't get them for you I'll get contact info for who has them.

I have tried this as well, but I never seem to get a response by leaving a comment on the picture. Is there a better way to contact the person?
 
No kidding, post the list as I'm going to a show tomorrow also. You never know. Not to pump other sites but have you checked any other boards or are you strictly on HI?

Chris is onto something here. Ewen...stick the 8 you need in your signature here. You don't know how many times I've been contacted by people here (with emphasis on HERE on HI) with something I had on my want list that they were then ready to sell or trade to me. I've also seen some of our reliable folks here take their friends' want lists to other sites and try to grab them there. Hell, some of the Vancouver guys here have taken other peoples' want lists around to the Vancouver shows proactively, and confused sellers wondering why 8 people from Hobby Insider approached him asking for a Bernie Nicholls autograph they wanted to grab for a buddy back east and so on.

The semi-upsetting thing is, I think I have one of the 8 you might need (Tiger Williams VAN,) but it's part of a team set I'm not breaking up right now. :o I guess you can take solace in the fact that if I do break it up, the card's yours.

Photobucket also has a message board/forum area for members...not a lot of traffic on them, but it's sometimes worth posting a thread there if you're looking for a particular member. :)

Thank you everyone for the great suggestions. Some I have tried before and some that I never considered. HI has been a great help to me in my collecting ventures/obsessions.
 
I called the LCS and he didn't have any when he went through but he thought he had a Carlyle - He is going to check and let me know

I'll let you know if he finds one

Like Zetternerd... I had a whale that took me almost a year to find...
2006-07 Game Jersey Hasek... doesnt sound that tough right?

But not one showed up on ebay for a whole year, nothing on the boards, Beckett market, or anything.. I did a photobucket search, found one that way... did a little research on the guys photobucket name, found out he also had an account on ebay under the same screename as photobucket... sent him an email on there, he messsaged me back in 2 weeks and i was able to obtain my whale!
