Which player/team must be kicking themself

Going through a ton of cards this morning, I saw one card and started to think to myself " Dallas must be kicking themself for not keeping him "
What are some of the players today or in the past do you think have made such a large impact with a team after being traded, or given up on, who made such a big impact with their new teams.

My picks right now are
Jarome Iginla
Tukka Rask
and Brad Boyes
 
Dallas won a Cup thanks to the Iggy trade for Nieuwendyk so I don't think they are kicking themselves. You gotta give something to get something. That being said, I know the Sens must regret trading Brooks Laich for an aging Peter Bondra...
 
Carlo and Steen for stempniak
kurvers for a #1 pick (niedermayer)
and then trading the pick that would be luongo
also the owen nolan and brian leetch trades
 
I think St.Louis Blues make very bad trade in early 90s they trade Adam Oates for G.Janey and S.Qiuntal to Boston .I think Oates was one of the best playmakers ever.
Also Pens make very bad moves in 90s when they trade S.Zubov and M.Naslund I am not sure right now what they get but I think there was one Rusian player who played just few matches in NHL dont remember his name ......

Disagree. Neely would most likely never have developed into the player he turned into if he stayed in Vancouver. A player like Neely was made for the Boston Garden and its small ice surface. And people also forget that Barry Pederson did quite well in Vancouver, until the unfortunate injury.

As for the trade as a whole, I have always contended the Wesley aspect of the deal was where the Canucks got robbed.

If we are talking about one of the worse trades ever, it did involve the Canucks: Stojanov for Naslund.

.....Not neccesarily yet, but I believe Guillaume Latendresse(Montreal) will belong on this list within the next 4-5 seasons.
 
Pederson for Neely is among the worst trades ever. In the 3 years after the trade starting in 86-87 when both were healthy Pederson had 58 goals while Neely had 115.
 
No mention of Mad Mikes trades?
How about
Luongo for Parrish and Kvasha
Chara and Spezza (or at least the pick) for Yashin
Bertuzzi and McCabe for Linden

drafting DiPietro over Heatley and Gaborik (after trading Luongo)
 
Oilers released Ray Whitney after 5 games or so. Florida picked him up and he became a star.

*Oilers never had him but they had a chance to draft Zach Parise. At the time they had too many small players so they traded the pick to the Devils. The Devils chose him and the Oilers drafted M.A. Pouliot. Last week the Oilers released Pouliot. What's funny is, I think this was the year when Comrie fiasco took place and he was one of the small players they had. He ended up getting traded a couple of months later.

Ehrhoff to the Canucks for a bunch scrubs was bad but that was more of a salary dump to acquire Heatley.
 
Marc Savard was acquired by the Atlanta Thrashers from Calgary in exchange for Ruslan Zainullin on November 15, 2002.

Zainullin never played a single game in the NHL.
 
Small mistake there. It wasn't Luongo for Parrish and Kvasha - Mad Mike gave up Luongo AND Oli Jokinen. When you combine that with the fact he did the deal, so he could make room for DiPietro (rather than taking Heatley or Gaborik) it was likely the worst deal ever made.
