1995-96 Topps Home Grown Mario Lemieux. Paid a pretty penny for this card.

The Topps Home Grown Series II is almost impossible to find. This is the third card I have landed this year for the set. The other two copies I have are Todd Harvey & Joe Juneau. I only have seen each card once and they both happen to be the copies I own.

Lafontaine was part of the Home Grown USA series. Very tough to come across now but they usually sell in the $5 range. Not much demand even though limited copies are kicking around.

I have the full Home Grown USA set : )

Took me a VERY long time to track down the cards.

The series one cards are pretty common. You see them all the time.

It's the series II cards that rarely ever pop up. I think they are SP'ed OR I don't think that 1995-96 Topps Series II was very popular and there may still be a lot of sealed product sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

I busted tons of boxes of series one when I was a kid. When Series II came out, I looked everywhere for them and dealers were not stocking the second series.

A couple years ago my fiancé found two sealed Canadian retail boxes. Each pack contained one OPC insert and each box had one Home Grown Canada card from series 1. These boxes are really hard to find sealed now.

The series II homegrown cards were found in Series II Canadian Hobby Boxes. These boxes are tough to find as well. I have been told that you can still pull Topps Home Grown Canada Series one out of these boxes and that the second series is very short printed. I am hoping to find a series II box so I can verify this but it's not easy to find them!

Yeah, those are stuff ones for sure. I tracked down my Lemieux last summer. I was starting to wonder if it existed as well.

I can relate to your find wholeheartedly! I collect Yzerman and I finally found a Home Grown insert in the past year or so, after 15+ years of searching! So stupidly hard to come by.

Thanks for posting this! I doubted the card existed. This is the only Yzerman I have ever seen.

It's funny that even the largest of dealers who sell pretty much anything & everything do not even know how scarce the Topps Home Grown Series II Cards are.

The Gretzky card seems the most common. I have seen it pop up 3 times in the last year.

I have seen two Felix Potvin's appear this year as well as a Mark Messier. The Luc Robitaille is in a personal collection and I saw that card this year as well.
