Probably none. Collecting isn't about making an investment -- or at least it shouldn't be in my opinion.

Collecting should be a hobby and if you decide to put more into it for personal reasons. Then so be it.
However, to turn a hobby with the soul intent of benefiting financially. You'll be hard pressed to accomplish this.

i also agree with the fact it's not an investment, but if you are wanting players to go after, check my list below, they are the obvious ones but guys like alex semin, kessel isn't getting much love from people, kopitar is awesome, one guy i like, maybe cause i'm an islander fan is trent hunter. he has the ability to be keith truchuk or a younger bill guerin. if you want to chat about it, pm me.

You will never, ever make money at this. However I try to flip a little here and there to support my habit. I find buying guys through the summer and selling over the winter is huge.
Last year I bought and sold Cup RCs, made some money to reinvest into my PC. However the amount of money I lose in other areas (Busting Wax, High end singles of guys with no up arrows) even this out.
To me part of the hobby is buying some cool cards and pushing them back out the door in trade or sale to afford something else. I actually put very few cards in my permanent PC.
As far as buying cards to keep for 20 years and sell for a profit? I think if you bought Crosby when he was cheap it might pan out. Otherwise Ovechkin is dropping, everyone else is holding stable. Like I said you can't make money at this lol.

No offense, but speak for yourself. Lots of us can and do make money at this.
Then again, you don't see a link to my "bucket," and you don't see me with any insane player collections, either.
There are different ways and styles to enjoy this hobby.
