Who Has The Best Looking Autograph of All-Time?

Mike Bossy has had a clean, consistent auto forever it seems like.

And for the member who complimented Seth Jones' auto, i would politely beg to differ. Nothing awesome about "SJ3" at all. And this is coming from a fan of his who has a decent minor PC of him...

A lot of nice signatures in this thread! I agree that you can't really beat the autos of the old time legends! I also like Marty McSorley and Lanny McDonald's signatures. And for young players that have to sign a billion cards, I think Mrazek and Lazar do a pretty good job. And lastly, I know I'm biased, but for modern day stars, I've always thought Iggy has a clean and consistent sig. Awesome thread idea!

All those mentioned are nice. My hockey favorites are Mikita, Lindsay, Beliveau, Richard, and I have always liked Paul Henderson's scribble:

But my all-time favorite auto is baseball's Harmon Killebrew. He was a stickler for making sure he signed nicely.

I know that check mark auto you're referring to...

He "Checked" out of the NFL very quickly also!!!

Most of the autographs I really appreciate and have in my collection have been mentioned (Tony O, Bower, Crosby, Lemieux). I'd like to add, and I am definitely biased on this as I have over 300 signed cards from him, but Marty Turco. His autograph has remained the exact same since the late 90's and is quite legible by today's standards...

A fine example for all those who brought up "Rico" Rick Martin and Gilbert Perreault, along with the third member of the French Connection, Rene Robert :

..and this was on a seat back, while sitting behind a table.

Along with others who brought up some other sport iconic signers, I will ALWAYS give high praise to Gale Sayers :

Bart Starr:

Paul Hornung :

Jim Kelly :

Easily autos you'd recognize in a snowstorm, without a picture...

I will start off this post by saying I am 100000% bias, and I am going to let you finish, BUT...Nikolai Khabibulin has the best most consistent autograph of all time.

As others have mentioned, many retired players have very neat, legible autographs. I will second Richard Martin..not only is it legible, but it is aesthetically great on cards too:

For current players, I'd have to cite Joe Thornton as having a very consistent, aesthetically pleasing, auto:

I've always liked Mike Bossy's. And I always like Russian autos. I have one of Pavel Bure and Igor Larionov but my favourite was of Alexei Zhamnov. I should upload it. But of the current guys I'm biased as I like John Tavares. It's pretty distinctive, consistent and as a result you can usually spot a fake rather easily because of it.

Not the best AU but he is fairly consistent up until his 3's.

I think it has been mentioned in the thread but Yzerman and Gretzky have some of the best and most consistent going:

For modern players I really like Tavares:

Some lovely sigs inking this thread. I will have to cast my vote for best auto to Mike Bossy like several others here. It is clean, legible and elegant. It's as consistent as his goal scoring! That's part of the reason I collect his auto's. The Bossman learned cursive script and never short changes an autograph. Unfortunately, cursive script has gone the way of the Dodo bird,in part, due to technologies ever advancing grip on the younger generation set and athletes are not certainly not immune. They can text but they don't seem to have a grasp on signing anything beyond an chicken scratch and a number (if you're lucky!)

Let's just be thankful for The Beliveau's, The Mahovlich's and The Bossy's because the age of the autograph has devolved.
