Who is one player you wish you could collect?

I would love to collect Phaneuf, but lots of people already collect him and his cards are through the roof. Aswell Ovechkin has some amazing cards, especially from the Cup
 
Most of those guy's are collectible for most - though it might only be some of the really high end that are out of reach financially. The players that come to mind when I think of this topic are the vintage guy's like Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, Bobby Hull, and guy's like Georges Vezina, Fred Taylor and Art Ross from the C55 and C56 sets. Those would be the guy's that I'd collect if I could. I have one older Howe card, but nothing too big, though I charish the card in my PC, I wish I could have something older and of a higher grade. Just a few of my thoughts. :)
 
Without a doubt I go Gretzky. My goal before I retire from collecting is have his RC in hand and display it the way it its meant to be displayed...in the center of my living room with smoke machines, lazer light shows and audio recordings of his greatest moments that play through surrond sound when ever someone walks into the room.
 
Steve Yzerman. I collected him as a kid when base cards and inserts were enough to satisfy me. I would love to collect him now, but my completist brain won't allow me.

Haha one day my friend and when that day arrives I'll make sure that I send you a pm. It's gonna be like ice capades meets the 72 Summit Series...flashy and borderline homosexual yet filled with history and long lost purity.

I wish I could pick up more Brodeur stuff but the funds aren't that strong any more for my card hobby.
Even Parise stuff is going for much more than it used to now a days.

However, my #1 wish I could afford his cup stuff would be Scott Stevens. He has I think 5 cup autos and a member here has pretty much cornered the one card, limited logos I believe, not complaining, just jealous lol. Ever since he was inducted into the HHOF his prices just seem to have gone way up.

2 guys that I really like without a lot of cards out there are Ozolinsh and Kasparaitis. I grab some of their stuff when I see it. Fortunately, I am not a copmpletist, so I don't have to have every card of the player out there. IF I get a couple of nice ones I am happy. For example, I have an Ozolinsh country of Origin from ITG Parkhurst, where there are only 12 of them. Also have a few nice Kaspar patches.

So, Who or what i collect is what is meant to be.
 
Trevor Linden. He's a little too rich for my blood...and not only that, but if I had the money to chase all the Linden stuff and took all that stuff away from his current collectors, I'd surely be taken in an alley after the next Bonsor and beaten down by Kevin, Brett and Victor :D
