Hey folks,

My fiance and I are new to NASCAR, and while we love to watch the races (watching them in HD on a 52" HDTV will have that effect on a person!), we don't enjoy them as much as we would like because we don't have favorite drivers yet.

So, I am asking you all, who is your favorite driver and why?

BTW, while I don't have a favorite, the one guy I cannot stand is Jeff Gordon. I don't think that a driver should ever insult or blame his crew for a loss, but that's all Gordon ever seems to do. He's cocky (says that he has an almost unfair advantage when racing with restrictor plates), whiny and I just don't like him.

Tony Stewart.

Started to like him while watching USAC on ESPN. At that point I really liked his driving style. He seemed to have what it took to win and some of the moves I saw him make on the track with his sprints....well, they were pretty darn cool. When he jumped to Nascar, I loved the edge and attitude he brings. Sometimes he goes over the edge with it, but to me his passion for racing and winning show through. He is a very versatile driver as well, he can jump behind the wheel of anything and do a pretty good job with it.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Nothing better than seeing the black #3
I was and well still am a huge fan of Dale Sr. I started watching him in the late 80's. I loved his drive to win. Second was not good enough just the first loser as he would say. I enjoyed watching him on and off the track. His dirving stlye was different from anyone else. If they did not move he would move them. I could go on and on. The reason why I like Jr. may be the same as alot of Sr. fans. When Sr. died Jr adopted alot of his daddies fans.

Jeff Gordon

I like him because we are close in age (33/34), his birthday is a few days away fom mine (8-1/8-4) and he is doing something I wish I could do....Drive a nascar and win.

Mark Martin

I choose him as my favorite because he was a good driver who always drove a clean race. If there ever was a gentleman in Nascar it would be Mark.

Ricky Rudd, I like the color orange and when i got into nascar, he was the first driver i saw with that color, been a fan since

as for a young gun drive--Ryan Newman and DE. jr--seem like fun dudes--kj
