So you're gonna collect a player that other people tell you to?!?!

I'll set the over/under on the liquidation of this new "PC" at 6 months.

These threads drive me nuts...why do you need to ask other people who to collect? collect someone who you enjoy watching or have an interest in...I agree with the above post.....this collection will be gone in 6 months, I don't think this will bring you any satisifaction at the end of the day...just my two cents...

I would have picked Luca Caputi, is a bright young star for teh leafs and he will be in this years cup, isnt very expensive either

His stuff will get ALOT more expensive now that he is a leaf. Everything always sells for close to double once they become a leaf. Steen being traded resulted in me having a shot at dozens of cards i otherwise had no chance at.

My exact thoughts when I saw this...
You're pretty much pulling a name at random that other people suggested and you're going to collect him?
If you just wanna collect something different than Mueller, i'd rather go for an auto or jersey or rookie set. You get a wide variety of players and it's just as fun as collecting a player in particular.

But it's up to you, if that's what you want to do then go for it!..

lol, unless you're just trying to unload your PC on him, the last thing we need is more Caputi collectors!

LOL There are a few of us. What disapointes me is the one reason I started this PC was cause he was a Penguin Prospect, now he is a leaf, I just might start collecting Simon Dupres. Looking for 750 for the PC shipped, it would be a good start for someone, but I aint gonna start breaking it apart either piece by piece it is whole or it is mine forever!

And Caputi's value going up, yeah I can see it now he is a leaf seems it happens to every leaf preospect I guess... How is Pogges value now LOL Any way that could be a double edged sword as us Caputi collectors who have alot of his RC's are fine with it, but then the cards we dont have will cost us more $$$ as well look at the spike the bay had more Caputi's listed right after the trade!

I like the old line from Rugrats in this situation (probably came from somwhere else, but I'll stick with Rugrats because that's where I know it from).

I'll take that action, and I'll go UNDER.

To the OP:
First rule of collecting - collect what YOU like. Don't even bother hearing out what someone else plans to tell you about what they think you should like.

First mistake is asking WHO should you collect. Without a desire, drive or reason behind the collection you will likely fail or not really enjoy the chase. I recommend not collecting anyone until you decide for yourself.

Are there any players, teams or sets that really interest you? Do you love goalies, goal scorers, D-men? Did you collect as a kid (depends how old you are). There are lots of different things to collect but ultimately you have to decide what or who it is.

Nah, he should just collect Kevin Porter. You old guys are too long-winded, with your ancient wisdom and salient points and all. :D
