I think at this point in time, Ovechkin is the better player. HOWEVER, one must keep in mind that Ovechkin has two years on Crosby, and has been playing with men in the Russian League, therefore it gives him an unfair advantage. As somebody else mentioned, Ovechkin has a physical edge to his game that Crosby lacks, however I think that a lot of that has to do with physical maturity. If it came down to one on one hockey skills, I still believe Crosby is the better player, and yes even a better goalscorer. Ovechkin has a confidence level that Sid the Kid is still lacking, and again, it's a maturity thing. Once Crosby realizes he's got the tools to pot goals at the NHL level, you'll likely see his goal scoring total increase dramatically, as I firmly believe that he's got better goal scoring ability than Ovechkin as well. Anybody remember the behind the net goal that made Don Cherry call him a hot dog? Even Ovechkin couldn't do that........
It's all about the confidence at the NHL level, which is where Ovechkin holds the edge at this point in time....
