Who's gonna net 50?

A ton of players are on pace to hit 50 - who do you think has the talent to do it this year? Currently 9 players have 10 goals or more (Gagne, Alfredson, Jagr, Ovechkin, Staal, Heatley, Lecavalier, Naslund and Briere) with the most games played being 17 (Jagr) and there's a ton of players with 9 or 8 goals.

So who would you put your money on to net 50 this year?

heatley & alfredsson stand a good chance if they keep playing like they have been, Spezza will probably get 35-40 if he keeps it up too

Now seriously, he has an outside chance of achieving this.

Though, I really hate to admit it! Jaromir Jagr will be able to get the task completed!

I'd have to go with Gagne if Forsberg stays healthy. Heatley and Alfredsson with Spezza being a possibility if they keep up there pace. Jagr I can see doing it cause he doesn't have a star setting him up.

I'm pulling for Ovechkin. Seriously, a couple guys from Ottawa will get 50 goals, Spezza should end up with 60-70 assists. Gagne, as long as Forsberg stays healthy. Hopefully Staal.

Gagne is a shoe in... he was playing well without Forsberg in the preseason... granted it was preseason, but he still looked good. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gagne make a legitimate run for 50 in 50... when was the last time that happened!!?? Anyways, there will be at least 5 guys over 50 this year, I think anyways.....

Ovechkin's never played an 82 game season. Wouldn't that be a factor in the second half when everyone starts playing more seriously? On top of that, there aren't any other scoring threats (that I know of) on the Caps, so you can just key on him. Hey I hope he gets big numbers since I have him on my fantasy team...lol, but my brain says no.

Of the two of them, it seems like Sidney would have a better shot since he isn't the only scoring threat in Pittsburgh.

I'll put my Monopoly money on dark horse Kovalchuk to get 50 and even win the Richard trophy. Wow! Some dark horse.

I tend to doubt that. Ovechkin already have 2 or more times the goals than Sid. Crosby will take the assist crown, hand down. Ovechkin will easily win the rookie goal scoring title. Ovechkin = Goals, Crosby = Assists. I don't think of Crosby as a goal scorer. He has nice one's, but they are few and far between.
