Why doesn't this have a serial number on it?

Hi, Sorry for the likely dumb question, but I was expecting a number on this card (/999, /100,/10 are the obvious ones). Why wouldn't this be numbered?

it's an ebay 1/1 I wouldn't expect that the card would get any more value for it not being numbered

I have a Tony Amonte card here for an old black diamond that has no serial number (supposed to be #'d to 100 or 1000 or something), and it was suggested when I inquired that perhaps it was a replacement to the original, which wasn't stamped when sent out.

Perhaps you're in a similar boat where the original owner sent the card in for repair and got this in return?
