Why is the card market getting so dang expensive???

It doesn't take that much money to move markets that are unregulated. A few shilled auctions of any card, much of which aren't actually paid for, can see great returns for those that were originally holding said card.

This is why eBay does a great disservice to its customers by hiding bids and not banning accounts that refuse to pay for products after bidding. I would make the case that PWCC and Probstein are complicit in this happening to their auctions also but I have no proof. I will say that there are examples of PWCC buying their own offerings only later for them to be resold at much higher values and sometimes with much better grades.

The real success in this entire thing is that the buyer groups that move markets and hacks like Gary V have convinced normies that an ESPN documentary caused the rush of cash into the market.

There is indeed a lot of suspicious activity taking place on ebay and breakers.tv and it is upsetting that no one ever does anything to call out these people. The suspicious group breakers are actually thriving with their methods and what they are doing, suspicious or otherwise is completely ignored. Kenny is another good example of someone that has no regard for morals and only cares about making a profit, yet nothing will ever happen to him. Sad really.
