I got mine in the mail today and I had not followed any threads on the ITG VIP cards. I wanted to open the envelope myself and see what all the fuss was about. Well it was worth the wait. I have always had some forlorn vision of having my own card someday but this takes the cake.

i have a Jaro Halak 2 color jersey with seam with my very own name on the back and its 7/10 to boot.

Good idea Mr. Price.. Damn good idea... You got me smiling.

These cards are really nice looking. I got a really nice looking Rask seam...the only thing I don't like about the cards is that ITG printed our VIP ID's on them after we were told not to share these ID's. Now I can't trade this awesome looking card to a die-hard Rask collector.

Brian pointed out yesterday that these are membership cards. The bonus is that they are made to be memorabilia cards as well. VERY cool idea by the folks at ITG.

I disagree, this is what makes the card cool. My name and my ID is on a really cool card that I know I can never misplace LOL

That's the way I see it too, it's a membership card with a twist. Instead of getting a plain little laminated card ITG decided, like they always do, to add as much value as possible by having it double as a jersey card. I have a lot of membership cards from a lot of different places, this is the first time I can say the membership card itself is worth something to me.

I got a Lidstrom myself and I love the card, not my favorite player by any means but how often can you say you have a card with your name on it?

Enjoy the 1/1

Guys, don't get me wrong...I love these cards too. They look amazing, and I think its a great way for ITG to reward their loyal customers; However, I think that if ITG want to step it up a notch, they could either get to know their VIPs' collecting interests and really make the cards personal or make the cards in a way that they can be moved. I'm not saying that I think everyone should get to pick the player that appears on their card, but maybe at a minimum ask people what they collect and what team they support. Can you tell yet that I'm not a big Rask fan (or Boston for that matter)? ;-)

Why doesn't Upper Deck load all my product with stuff I can move/stuff I collect?

Seriouslly this was meant as a bonus and it should be treated like that. If you want to get a card that you can call your shot on, go out and spend the money on a Made To Order card and then send it to them asking for the player/team you collect.

I do not know about the printing process for these card, but I can not imagine how much longer it took for them to put our names on the card.
