Will My ITG Cards Still Hold Value?

So private stock, titanium, luxury suite which were all 1 gu per pack or more were insert driven?

Pinnacle bit the dust before the gu craze but when you consider a mirror gold gretzky/yzerman/roy/Sakic etc.. couldn't be had for under at a bare minimum of $300+ and you can pick them up now for $20-50 I'd day that's a pretty fair comparison on flooding and value.

If I am not mistaken Luxury Suite still holds its own relative to today's market. Private Stock and Titanium were both mass produced so they are obviously very soft except for the rarer cards that were always serial numbered. You are also trying to compare pricing back when sales were much higher on "rarer" cards than they are now when virtually every card is considered rare. In case you have missed it, mirror golds were released recently with serial numbering less than the original stated print run of 30. You would be lucky to get $50 on any one veteran player unless a bidding war between player collectors breaks out.

after all that leaking out the back door (extra stock dump)?

I've seen this written in many threads recently. What is this and where is it coming from? Just a rumor or is there somekind of proof? (other than "I heard someone said")

I know this one seller has a lot forsale but I have only seen cards that I haven't seen before. (and picking them up gladly). So it doesn't make them extra... Maybe this guy just had a crazy collection?

One person has 6 of a card with a stated print run of 5. And the "release" of the Vernon autograph from Motown that was never officially released is also a pretty big red flag. Needless to say, the seller up north has many many red flags waving on a daily basis...

I don't think it'll get Pinnacle bad, but I saw a good chunk of what came out of there at the time and it was enough to make you puke.

honestly, all the Vault cards have increased print runs of no more than 1-4 cards of any given card that has been stamped.ask any collector if they would want a Vezina or Richard piece in their collection with stamp or not,i believe they would take the stamp card over non at all.

How about Gilmour cards? Ebay shows 125 completed Gilmour Vault cards already. How many those exicts? Three hundred? Five hundred?
They are influenced by prices without any doubt.

Harri,

There were a lot of Gilmour ITG Superlative and Ultimate cards produced over the past 15 years. For each card, Vault has no more than three cards of each one made (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald). So say there were 100 different Gilmour cards made in both products (include the Gold 1/1 versions also)...there could be 300 of these in Superlative Vault and ITG Ultimate Vault.

Example:

Here are two Gilmour Silver Emblem cards. Same card, but one is the Emerald one...and another the Ruby one.

Emerald version:

Ruby version:

There could be a Sapphire version out there, too.

Then there is a Gold version of the Emblem card (below). Theoretically, there could be three of those, too (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald). See how that adds up to a possible numerous amount of Gilmour Vault cards??

Ruby version

Just saying...

So there's more than three cards Curt.

Another one is gold version and another silver. So there's at least six different 05-06 Vault Emblem 1/1 cards (two rubies, two emeralds and two sapphires) I wonder why was make out for at least six replacement card series of 10 cards?
How about other Vault cards..?

They are great bonus cards for a PC, and a chance to get another cool patch or vintage piece, but in my eyes they are nowhere near as valuable as the originals. Give me the choice between an original with a "meh" patch and the vault version with a killer patch and I'll still choose the original every time.

The best part about the vault cards in my opinion, at least with Ultimate, is the reappearance of the old licensed cards from the very early BAP/ITG days. Some of the original versions of those cards have probably never seen daylight in ten years or more. The Gretzky Complete Package for example.

Why they made that many "extras" for each card?? I don't know?

But like Kevin (FrozenInferno) said ...they are nowhere near as valuable as the originals. I'll still choose the original every time. But these are nice cards with "REAL" memorabilia. That is why I like them. You know they are the real deal and not some manufactured patch or photoshoot crap. And the reappearance of the old licensed cards from the very early BAP/ITG days is cool.

Collect'em if you like'em.......I do, so I will. To each his own. Why it's a hobby.

I couldn't agree more Curt. I am busting this product because of the memorabilia contained therein, not whatever supposed scarcity there is of said card in a set. Given there's a relatively finite supply of the mem, getting a chance to land more of it definitely appeals to me!

One color isn't rarer than another?

From what I understand...some cards only have one Vault card made. If they do, it's a Ruby version. If they have more than one made, then they have Emerald and possibly Sapphire. But they are all 1/1s as stated. The only Ruby version...the only Emerald version, the only Sapphire version.....etc.

No real definite answers on which cards only have one made though. ???

Yes, and there could be also silver and gold versions, like my example shows.
Ruby gold - ruby silver, emerald gold - emerald silver, sapphire gold - sapphire silver.

Harri

Ah okay. I only ask because sapphire seems to be less prominent than the other 2. But now it makes sense.

In Superlative, it appeared that any card that was originally a one of one only had a ruby version. As far as the Ultimate, I do not know if it has the same pattern as I have not opened my case yet.
