With the Jets being back....

...will any of the card companies be doing any commemorative inserts, sets of tributes to the new Jets and/or the old Jets in the upcoming card season?

Thoughts from collectors are welcome as are those from UD, ITG and Panini staffers and owners who frequent these boards.

I would love to see an Opening Day Lineup mem set with the new duds.

Or something like what ITG did with the Vancouver 2010 set.

Any other ideas or plans?
 
I think it would be neat to see a insert set of them matching up the old and new jets by position. For example a khabiluin / pavelec card and a takchuk / little card. They could do a 10 or12 card set of the top 2 lines.

I actualy did a custom set not too long ago called "Once a Jet" with Khabibulin and Pavelec.

Unfortunately I lost the damn file. :l Maybe I can recreate it if the interest is high enough.

Still not -entirely- happy, but it's much better in my opinion.

Hey Lumpy now that there are Jets pics out there in the new uniforms, do you have time to whip something up?
 
Card companies never did anything when Minnesota got a new team after North Stars left.

Wondering why when the Jets left to Phoenix, the Coyotes didn't own the name JETS? I believe the Dallas Stars franchise still owns the rights to the North Stars name...thus the Minnesota team had to be renamed.

I was just about to say "ITG will be all over this" when I saw that Brian had already responded.

Since the league owns the Coyotes now maybe they allowed Winnipeg to have the name back.

Looking forward to seeing what card companies do for the new Jets. The sad part is it will be a while before new Jets gamers are available.
 
Here's the real Q - do you do a special jersey series for the first Jets gamers or do you blend them into your regular series (eg. UD Game Jersey). I personally would lean towards a special series, but I woudlnt' be surprised, say, if we get Jets GU in UD2.
