I dunno how you can tell that patch isn't the right material or not. Looks good to me though.

The threading is too tight, modern Blackhawks crests have that cotton-like material that feels like carpet, look at other Kane patches from the feathers and you'll see what I mean.

Because the Kanes have all been of the knit variety like this

and not the embroidered variety.

Icestars7 had a sweet one, Kane/10 multi colored and layered from ebay.
The seller is quite suspect, last week he had maybe 5 or 6 BAP Price autos for sale, BIN.

I think I remember seeing him around in the past. I used to have a different user name, so don't pay attention to my join date of '07. If I were you, even with the slightest negative reputation on this seller and the speculation of altering patches, I would tell your friend. That's just way too much $ to make a skeptical purchase with.
