Just AHL, Parkhurst, coins, and high end Chronology and SPGU left on epack to buy. No more S1/S2, other products from this and previous years. Can we give it to Upper Deck and call epack a success?

ePack is def a success and they cut out the middle man to a degree (software update agreement costs + COMC agreement). They have products that sell out even faster. Look at their marvel products that are higher end. Some hockey products sell faster than others but for the most part those products are avail for a longer duration than you would think.

ePack is awesome. I wish Upper Deck would put ALL of their products on there.

Whilst this has loads of sarcasm written all over it. I am okay with it. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they do an exclusive if they haven't already done so. This does level the playing field despite being in USD. I don't have to fight for "the best price" game or compete with others who are favored because they spend more with their LCS OR deal with the distribution mark up game (still not proven and strictly hear-say until we can get solid proof). Almost all my money goes to ePack.. the price remains the same and I saved the headaches that I mentioned above + I can trade worthless base for something a bit better.

It isn’t difficult to sell crack to an addict. Even virtually. EPack has done more damage to UDs collecting base than they care to admit.

That all being said, it’s an ENORMOUS success for Upper Deck. Cut out the middle man and get full price for their cards, most of which they don’t even have to print. This is possibly the BEST business decision they have ever made (to make up for not hiring Fullbag back in the day).

It's definitely a success, for the following reasons:
- prices don't go up after release day
- trading is so much easier than through the mail or on trader nights
- most of the flagship products are represented (except for missing SPA)
- e-Pack only variations (Silver/Gold Foils, achievement cards)

Possible improvement ideas:
- adding more products
- allow buying and selling or breaks
- find a better shipping process
- use the same release date as physical releases (fat chance this happens)

Don’t be surprised if SP Authentic or even The Cup come to epack in the near future.

The Cup and SPA will not hit epack. I've been told this many times from my sources. I wouldn't worry about that.

I love the statement in bold. Most LCS will be upset at me for saying it but I am voting with my wallet. The prices stay the same and I am okay with it.

I would contact Panini.

The improvements... if they did those, that would definitely spell the final days for the brick & mortar LCS. I know... for some not in bigger cities, no LCS, who cares. Some of us like our LCS though, more than just a store. A meeting place, you know... not behind a keyboard. Like a bar... but without the booze, lol. No wives, chit-chat about sports and more. Trade nights (once post-covid kicks in more), release day parties, etc...

I think UD should keep walking the line... what is good for them and their stake holders, but also what is good for the hobby (online and hobby shops). I have never dealt with the nastiness in person like I have on e-pack. People are a lot nicer in person, not keyboard terrorists, lol. That is one negative for sure.

For someone who really doesn't have a local LCS, they closed a couple years back, it has been nice to log on buy some product, make some trade and see where things go. I do still buy from B&M stores when I can, but some have their prices so high I just can't do it. I agree with a lot of what is said on both sides, and for UD it is just another tool to sell product, or cardboard-crack as my wife calls it...

Hi, my name is Thad and I am an addict, I like to gamble some but not as bad as others. I admit I have a problem, albeit a small one....I think.

I personally like ePack. I dont have any hobby shops around me for about (35 miles) and it doesnt leave me with tons of base that I have no use for.

If they could learn to add a group break feature to the site now! That would be some serious Awesomeness!

All they have to do is find a better shipping method. It could be to replace COMC or to massively improve it. Epack is a massive money maker for them. No needing to print off base cards, many inserts never get sent home, no needing to buy and package cards up, no needing to buy and print boxes either.

What I would like to see is have UD create an all epack higher end product. Not Cup high end but more like Premier or Ultimate.

EPack is a good way to supplement purchases. The ability to trade in real time, without postage, for cards to complete sets is great. Also, trading up can be fun. I also like that the prices don't go up over time. We really got gauged with the prices on S1/S2 this year, although I'm starting to see S2 drop in price.

There are a couple facebook groups that do group breaks already. The moderators run them pretty much at cost since there is no shipping involved.
