Mail post #19 is basically a summit of all the random parallels I've been picking up. This entire mail post is made up of three packages I received.

We will begin with lot #1, which came from Bryan Davis (bryanstarock).

-------------------------------------------------------
929.jpg

94-95 SP Sergei Samsonov RC
95-96 Upper Deck Electric Ice Jason Arnott
96-97 Donruss Press Proof Jason Arnott (/2000)
96-97 Donruss Canadian Ice Canadian Red Jason Arnott (/750)
97-98 Donruss Canadian Ice Provincial Series Jason Arnott (/750)
97-98 Donruss Canadian Ice National Pride (/1997)
97-98 Pinnacle Inside Coaches Collection Jason Arnott
97-98 Zenith Z-Silver Mikael Renberg
six 99-00 Upper Deck Gretzky Exclusives cards
99-00 Pacific Omega Ice Blue Alexei Yashin (/75)
99-00 Crown Royale Ice Elite Theoren Fleury
We'll start off with a few older parallels, and even one insert I've never seen before -- the National Pride. The card is done in acetate like the UD Ice cards, but is even more attractive in my opinion.

00-01 Aurora Striped Parallel Chris Chelios
00-01 BAP Memorabilia Emerald Jason Arnott (/10)
00-01 Topps Chrome O-Pee-Chee Refractor Jeff Friesen
02-03 BAP Memorabilia Ruby Bill Guerin / Jason Arnott (/200)
02-03 BAP Memorabilia Sapphire Patrik Stefan (/100)
02-03 Stadium Club World Stage Alexei Kovalev
02-03 Titanium Red Tyler Arnason (/299)
The Arnott emerald is certainly the centerpiece of this lot of cards. I am always a big fan of the ultra-limited stuff!

-------------------------------------------------------
931.jpg

03-04 Topps O-Pee-Chee Blue Stu Barnes (/500)
05-06 Upper Deck All Time Greatest Gary Roberts
03-04 BAP Memorabilia Ruby Zac Bierk (/200)
05-06 UD Artifacts Treasured Swatches Michael Peca (/275)
05-06 Ultra Gold Olaf Kolzig, Dustin Brown, Tyler Arnason
To close out this lot, we have a few newer parallels. The Bierk is neat, since I collect him, and it's always nice to have an extra of that kind of stuff. Thank you very much for the large trade, Bryan!

Moving on, here is lot #2. This lot came from Christian Grzancic (IslesFan11).

-------------------------------------------------------
932.jpg

95-96 Finest Refractor (Silver) Ray Sheppard
96-97 Flair Blue Ice Bryan Berard (/250)
97-98 Donruss Elite Status Adam Graves (/100)
97-98 Donruss Limited Exposure Green/Mellanby, Vorobiev/Johansson
97-98 Studio Press Proof Silver John Vanbiesbrouck (/1000)
97-98 Studio Press Proof Gold Damian Rhodes (/250)
97-98 Zenith Z-Gold Robert Reichel (/100), Dave Gagner (/100)
These are the first Zenith Z-Golds I've owned of anyone, but not the last that will appear in this mail post! Despite the fact that they aren't worth a whole lot, the Limited Exposure cards are extremely attractive.

-------------------------------------------------------
933.jpg

98-99 Upper Deck Exclusives (/100):
Nelson Emerson, Bates Battaglia
Nicklas Lidstrom, Yanic Perreault
Jason Morgan, Shayne Corson, Todd Harvey
The first card I ever pulled that was limited to 100 copies came from this product, when I opened a box of Series 1 at the age of 13. I pulled Jason Dawe, and still own the card. These parallels are some of my favorites, and I know they are real toughies to other player collectors too!

-------------------------------------------------------
934.jpg

98-99 UD Choice Prime Choice Reserve (/100):
Trevor Linden, Bryan Berard, Calle Johansson
Nikolai Khabibulin, Robert Reichel
98-99 Upper Deck MVP Gold Script (/100):
Mike Crowley, Mike Grier, Steve Thomas
Here's a few more tough cards from 98-99! This is the kind of stuff I love receiving. As for the Prime Choice Reserve cards, I think I've acquired every single one on the entire internet over the past 2 months... well, almost.

-------------------------------------------------------
935.jpg

98-99 Paramount Holo-Electric (/99):
Gary Roberts, Eric Weinrich, Zigmund Palffy
Dave Scatchard, Steve Konowalchuk
98-99 Pacific Omega Opening Day Issue Gary Roberts (/56)
98-99 Finest No-Protector Refractors Sergei Nemchinov, Scott Thornton
98-99 Bowman's Best Refractor Joe Nieuwendyk (/400)
Not only do I find the No-Protector refractors extremely good looking, but they have a very unique smell to them. Don't ask what it's like, I can't explain it. I also don't know if it's good or bad, but it's distinctive!

-------------------------------------------------------
936.jpg

98-99 O-Pee-Chee Chrome Refractors:
Boyd Devereaux, Daymond Langkow, Rod Brind'Amour, Pat Verbeek
Chris Therien, Kirk Muller, Michael Grosek
Luke Richardson, Dimitri Khristich, Claude LaPointe
I've talked a lot about this set, and how it may be the most underappreciated parallel set in the history of hockey cards. Pulling in ten of them at once is very cool! I know of a few player collectors (including myself) who spent years tracking one of these down.

-------------------------------------------------------
937.jpg

99-00 Upper Deck Exclusives Dan Hinote (/100)
99-00 Black Diamond Final Cut Jonathan Sim (/100)
99-00 Upper Deck MVP SCE Gold Script Sheldon Keefe (/100)
99-00 Upper Deck MVP SCE Super Script Denis Shvidki (/25)
99-00 Pacific Emerald (/199):
Scott Ferguson, Warren Luhning, Lubos Bartecko
99-00 Pacific Copper Rick Tocchet (/99)
99-00 Pacific Ice Blue Sergei Zholtok (/75), Jaroslav Svejkovsky (/75)
I collect Sheldon Keefe, but this one is my second copy. I do still need his Super Script, though. All of the MVP SCE cards in this post are on hold (you know who you are, already, and you're going to practically owe me a car when I'm done picking stuff up for you :D )

I will also give high praise to the holographic Light-FX found on the Final Cut cards. That's one technology that definitely needs to be resurrected.

-------------------------------------------------------
938.jpg

99-00 Paramount Holo-Gold Martin Straka (/199)
99-00 Paramount Holo-Silver (/99):
Darren McCarty, Eric Brewer
Mike Watt, Matthew Barnaby
99-00 Paramount Premiere Date Mike Watt (/50)
99-00 Revolution Ice Shadow Martin Rucinski (/99)
99-00 Revolution Ice Shadow Tom Barrasso (/99)
99-00 Pacific Dynagon Ice Copper Fredrik Modin (/99)
99-00 Pacific Dynagon Ice Ice Blue Alexei Zhamnov (/67)
00-01 Upper Deck MVP Second Star Mike Ricci (/100)
We'll close things off for lot #2 with a few more numbered cards here. Christian, thanks very much for the trade!

Finally, we will close with lot #3. This came from Paul King (JOE19SAKIC).

-------------------------------------------------------
939.jpg

97-98 Donruss Elite Status Brian Leetch (/100), Derek Morris (/100)
97-98 Zenith Z-Gold Alexander Mogilny (/100)
98-99 UD Choice Prime Choice Reserve (/100):
Dave Gagner, Phil Housley, Pierre Hedin
98-99 Upper Deck MVP Gold Script Manny Malhotra (/100)
98-99 SPx Top Prospects Radiance Brian Leetch (/100)
99-00 Upper Deck Exclusives Jeff O'Neill (/100)
There are a couple of VERY good cards in this picture, and I have high hopes for them. You pick 'em out yourself ;)

-------------------------------------------------------
940.jpg

99-00 Upper Deck MVP SCE Gold Script Jan Hlavac (/100)
99-00 Upper Deck MVP SCE Gold Script Shane Doan (/100)
99-00 Upper Deck MVP SCE Super Script Brett Lysak (/25)
99-00 Upper Deck MVP SCE Prosign David Legwand
99-00 Stadium Club One Of A Kind Michal Rozsival (/150)
99-00 Stadium Club First Day Issue Dan Cloutier (/150)
99-00 Stadium Club First Day Issue Michal Rozsival (/150)
More 99-00 shiny stuff... no complaints here at all. I'll pick up limited stuff like this all day long!

-------------------------------------------------------
941.jpg

00-01 Upper Deck Exclusives Tier 1 Felix Potvin (/100)
00-01 Titanium Game-Used Jersey Rich Parent
00-01 SPx Spectrum Kaspars Astashenko (/50), Matt Elich (/50)
00-01 Upper Deck Heroes Signs of Greatness Denis Potvin
Three of the players in this picture are guys I collect! Here's the story behind these cards. The Rich Parent jersey is actually an upgrade to the barely-two-color copy I own right now. As such, that version is now up for trade to all the other Rich Parent collectors out three.

The Astashenko and Elich are the other two. SPx Spectrums are very hard to find, so I don't mind picking up extras of these two. I will likely be keeping them.

To share a quick story along these lines -- one of my smallest complete player collections is Dale Rominski, with only three cards. The hardest was certainly the SPx Spectrum of him, and since the product's release I have only found one, and it was in Finland! I picked it up, wondering if I'd ever find another copy. I haven't. As such, if it weren't for me finding that one copy, one of my smallest player collections might still be incomplete!

-------------------------------------------------------
942.jpg

01-02 Upper Deck Exclusives Patrick Marleau (/100)
01-02 Crown Royale Blue Stu Barnes (/89)
01-02 Stadium Club Master Photo Eric Belanger (/100)
03-04 SP Authentic Limited Sean Burke (/99)
04-05 ITG Heroes and Prospects Net Prospects Tim Thomas (/60)
Finally, the end! The Tim Thomas jersey is neat to have as an extra, especially knowing that I picked it up for far cheaper in trade than his stupid stupid stupid stupid H&P Series 2 jersey/patch cards are going for.

That's the end of this post. Paul, thanks very much for the huge trade, and all the fun stuff for me to sort through!

News and notes:

**I am continuing to update the Press Plate tracker. Here's the link: Press Plate Tracker

**In the wake of my rather dismantled Tim Thomas collection, I do have another completion on the way for one of my smaller collections!

That'll be it. Thanks everyone!

98-99 Pacific Omega Opening Day Issue Gary Roberts (/56)
05-06 Upper Deck All Time Greatest Gary Roberts

I have an eye for both of those beauties :)

awesome mail andy, although your posts have become the standard to which all other mail posts are compared. They're always a blast to read!

Andy, awesome pickups...sorry my parallel lot was pretty weak compared to the others, I believe I sold off mostly all of my stuff..anyways, I hope you enjoyed our trade

Very nice mailday Andy. Nice assortment of parallels and various colors there :). By the way, the Harvey UD Exclusive could also be classified as a Gretzky cameo card as he's pictured on the back with Gretzky :D . Congratulations again.

Thanks everyone!

Trevor -- drop me a PM about those two and that other one you wanted from a while ago -- I believe it was from 99-00 Dynagon Ice but I forgot the card.

Wes -- two can play at this game :D :D

Again love the variety of stuff here! You might want to contact Mikko (silveri89) on the Almo Z-Gold. Also good to see the 97-98 Elite Status parallels. Definitely one of my all-time favorite sets!

Tatu

What??!! Only 14 pics of parallels? :p ;)

Incredible mailday for sure. 98-99 parallels are always tough for som reason, and you managed to grab a bunch.

Sign me up for the Brind'Amour, please. :)
