Hey all.... Just finalized and sent out the cards to complete the biggest trade i have ever completed.... worth an approximate $1200+!!!

I thought this trade was monstrous.... i traded 15 Hot prospects auto patches, most 3 color, including the ovechkin 3 clr... and in return..... well, you guys will see on Wednesday/Thursday when its due to arrive.

So I was wondering, what was the biggest trade you made? And what did you get in return??

I traded for about $400 H&P autos for my set including the Lemieux. Not quite in your class but for me it was a big one!
 
I never went really high in BV when trading, I prefer to work on smaller deals. (I feel uncomfortable doing hi-BV trades). I think my bigger traders are in the 60-70 BV range.

But, on many trades, both sides got 100+ cards. For set building, trading is great. But, for higher-end stuff, I prefer good old $$. Way easier to send an MO than to make up high-end tradebait.
 
My biggest trade was in 2000 ....I traded about 200 game-used and rookie baseball and football cards for this:

Nice trade you made. You got a sweet card. I was wanting the card myself but when I saw it he had already made the trade with you. Congrats on a sweet pickup. I wont ruin your surprise though.

i only dabble in high end trades for the most part. all over 100 bv. my biggest trades have been made with crankshaft and it was probably for the prucha and toivonen cup auto patch rcs i got from him. sent him a semin parkhurst and something else i can't remember....
 
Ya.. i sent the patches in a big box... they were individually wrapped in paper, bubblewrap, tape, placeholders, and pretty much anything else i could find in my house that would protect them

I sent the box Xpress, but he is in BC so they said 3 days.. also slapped $900 Insurance on there, just in case... cost about $30 to ship.. so it wasnt too too bad.

I've done a few trades that involved a few hundred dollars in BV, in large lots of parallels, coming back to me. My highest is probably somewhere around $500 BV.

That's some heavy duty protection! Going to take him an hour just to open all the cards up lol. Yah, I sent all my higher end trades XPRESSPOST and that has the tracking # and so far I haven't had any problems. The one trade I mentioned took a little longer to complete, but I got the cards within a week.

I think the USPS can learn something from us Canadians. To my knowledge they don't have a service that provides a tracking # and if you want it you need to pay a boat load of money. MESSED!...
 
Yea... Canada Post seems to have a lot less problems with failed deliveries and whatnot. I would go nuts if a package of that value was lost! $1200 down the drain, Yikes!


haha... no doubt.. at least an hour... i assured him they could withstand a nuclear blast with all the protection they are in.

Yah..That's why I try not to make those large deals with people outside of Canada. Just a trust thing really. Also people in the US that send packages using registered mail is messed up! It has to go through customs, so it costs the receiver money which is just INSANE
 
In a busy month, Steve Singer and I will trade around $3-4000. Last month was kinda slack - only around $1000 movin' back an' forth.
 
One night about 1800 dollars worth of cards changed hands between a friend and I. Some of my highlights were a brodeur jersey auto, Patrick Roy autograph, and many others. It was a nerve wracking night and I sometimes still regret getting rid of some of the cards that I passed up that night. In the long run, I'm happy with what I got in return.

I've made several trades over the $1000 mark. A couple with Quincy come to mind as well as one giant monster deal I made with hecklerp8ntballer that landed me a new colour GPS/Sonar, Ship 2 Shore Radio, 2 Electric Cannon Downriggers and 5 or 6 Rod and Real combo's. Needless to say that was by far and away the largest deal I made with lots of trade as well as cash being involved!!!
 
I can think of a trade with No No No.....The other Steve that was so loaded with cards that do not Book - that it may easily have been close to the $2,000 mark. Come to think of it - I probably still have 8o% of those cards.

I did one other local trade:
All my baseball for all his hockey - over 250 game used and autos changed hands. Come to thhink of it - may be time to give him a ring!!!!
