Your most foolish prediction this season?

I had a look back at some old threads from the beginning of the season and had a good laugh about what I said regarding the Edmonton Oilers before the year started:

They have any number of variables to take advantage of, and I think they will fly out of the gate and start to round into form around January or February.

BAHAHAHAHA

I said something about Callahan knocking on the 30 goal mark's door (if not for injuries, he would have had it. 23 goals in 60 games).

However, I also said that I was not sure about Dubinsky's ability to lead the team at center. Boy was I ever wrong. He has been a total gamer, and ended up being our best player all year (24 goals on an offensively incompetent team is like 45 on any other team....)

I wouldn't say it was a prediction, but I desperatley wanted to see Bieksa traded. He pissed me off almost every game last year. I despised him. I would have taken ANYTHING for him, be it another player or team equipment.

Boy am I glad that didn't happen. What a great season he has had.

I would suspect that there should be several "Carey Price will fall flat on his face this season" apologies in order. :)

predicting that Flyers fans on the board would finally stop whining about the refs every time they lose........now THAT would be foolish ;)

Your crystal ball is obviously broken. I have been doing much more complaining in our wins recently, lol.

Ill make a deal. Ill leave the officials alone when they can figure out the proper way to call the delay of game penalty for playing the puck out of play from the defensive zone. When they can get that right, Ill leave the referees alone.

I made an implied prediction that Mike Green would "show up" by taking him with my first pick in my hockey pool. Still finished in 2nd place, but what could have been if I stayed away from him.

no foolishness here. not many expectations come when you root for the rangers. aside from hoping Lundqivst gets his 30+ wins each season to continue his NHL record, everything else is just gravy. (ie. our team doing suprisingly well despite injuries and lack of a real scorer)

In early March, my buddy and I said that NJ would make the playoffs. We took a bet with 2 other of our buddies for 1 shot for every 2 pts that NJ behind 8th place, or if they made it our buddies would have to take 10 shots. Winner gets to pick the shots.

We owe 6 shots each. To be taken on our fantasy hockey pool draft day (keeper league). Drunk draft picks...wonder who I'm going to end up picking?

Only thing I was way off on was St. Louis. I thought Halak would be a lot better this year for them. Not pinning it all on him as they did have some injuries but they never seemed to gel like I thought they might. Still think trading EJ was a major step backward also!

Heck I've been complaining about the refs in the Tampa/pit series but not so much calls that favor pit....they have been pretty average all together....I didn't care too much to see a guy with a bloody face and no call(St.Louis) or a guy hit himself in the face with the other guys stick and get a call...I want to see a fair game....partly on the topic there are alway complaints about no matter what team we cheer.

still not on topic but....
Not sure if I made predictions but I would not have guessed the Pens would lose two star players and still get a decent seed in the playoffs...or with in 1 point or tie breaker of being in 2nd in the conference

i thought that Bernier would take the #1 job from Quick by January. that was way off.

i also said that NJ signing Kovalchuk was a bad idea - got that one right :) i don't think there were too many that were with me on that one.

I said the same thing about Bernier but was wrong. At least kovy turned it on in the second half though.
